"Yankee go home", "GRINGOS!" I grew up with that
it was common in Mexico and there is a reason. There is a long history of shall we say... bad blood? The same goes for the rest of Latin America.

But some of the things we have seem by people here, who are going on the same exact rants... are quite out of line.

If the US did not send any help, they'd be in a twitter, since well we don't help no brown people...

If the Marines were just off the horizon and they came in FAST... instead of taking the five days that it prepared to launch the 22nd MEU and physically get them there, again they'd be screaming.

If nobody took the control of the Airport, and trust me some people brought cargo handling equipment instead of well food, in the first flight (See Mexican Air Force for example) the same group would be screaming.

They ignore any evidence that perhaps their ideologically driven POV might just be off this time. I mean even Klein has said that the actions of the IMF and the WB short circuit disaster capitalism... it contradicts what their lying eyes are telling them.

Now this is not an invasion. Brazil IS STILL in command of MINUSTAH, and the work on the ground continues. Could it go better? There are always room for improvement, and the after action of this has some interesting lessons already there. Some of the reasons behind the failures of systems are driven by long standing policy by the US and OTHER western nations... but right now I find it disgusting.

And you know what these folks are? We used to call them radishes back in the day... all red on the outside and pure Lilly white on the inside. To get the joke you'll need to read on the Russian civil war and the reference is to the Red Army fighting for Lenin and the White Army fighting for Kerensky. That is what that joke is about. But we have a lot of Radishes around here, that are just as blind as some of those kids in the young cadres... except that those kid truly were committed to changing the world. These days some of them are down in Chiapas with the Zapatistas...

So there you have it... and it does little to show them any that will show that they are wrong, and ironically CNN and others are also pushing the same US evil meme... in this case US Government meme is bad... That is why this is so tragically funny...

For the record, I am not going USA... even though I know WHY the US has the lead LOGISTICS role in this. I am going GO WORLD!!!!!!!!

1. nadin, no matter what is done, someone will complain loudly.
Keep presenting facts and realize that some will continue to ignore them.

4. I know, and you know what the best part is?
I call them radishes... it is quite an insult.

I learned that from my dad.

7. President Obama is the CIC so the recovery efforts can't be going well
He could cure cancer and the same loudmouths would be complaining that he was contributing to overpopulation.

Can't win.

8. In this case it does not matter what party the President is nomnally from
Gringos, YANKEE GO HOME... STOP YOUR IMPERIALISM... this is what this is.

As I said, I grew up with this... and there is a very good reason for that... a very long history... which leads back to the Yankee go home.

I am hoping this actually helps to change this dynamic, to a point.

10. So am I... and as a former rescue worker
we have gone from the well... mess that was the Mexico City Quake, the first time this came to my mind... to this.

As many mistakes that are being made, they always are made, this is far better coordinated.

If this was like Mexico City... I'd be screaming.
