Republicans deliberately run up deficit spending to sabotage Democratic governments
An excerpt from Thomas Frank's "The Wrecking Crew"

"Conservatives would merely heighten the contradictions of the liberal system: the fact that deficit spending, while ordinarily healthy, could be ruinous if used in the wrong situation. So they would use it in the wrong situation."

This is what the Reagan tax cuts and deficit spending (which were mirrored by Bush II) were all about; defunding the liberal state so that it would fail, and thus enabling Republicans to get into power.

This is why these "deficit hawks" become "deficit pigs" when they get into power: it's all about sabotaging the government, making the other party look bad, and bringing in the profits.

I hope this bullshit is about over - I hope the Prez keeps it up with reminding everyone who wrecked the economy. Again

4. Defecits...What Their Bankrollers Want...
The big banks love them rushpublicans and their drunken sailor spending cause it means more money in their pockets. They run up the defecits and have to borrow the money somewhere...and the banks are more than happy to lend...at a nice interest rate. As the defecits climb...all the government does is attempts to pay on the interest and revolves the rest...principal? Fuggedaboudit. Thus its easy taxpayer money...billions into their pockets year in and out (which then goes back to rushpublican candidates), soaking the taxpayers who never know what's going on.

And yes, I've long noticed that the states that get hurt the worst are the most populace ones...predominately Democratic and thus they get hammered with unfunded mandates and cuts in other spending yet are supposed to pick up the slack when the Federal says it no longer has the money (except for the Military-Industrial complex of course).

The GOOP represents supporting a kleptocracy...using the treasury as their piggy bank and when the Democrats get into power, then they become "fiscally conservative"...trying to keep them from restoring funding and support that the GOOP has sabotaged.

The irony is the GOOP says its for states rights and for "less government", then they spend billions to dominate that government that never shrinks. The sheeple are none the wiser.
