President Obama said on Sunday that he will hold a meeting with Republican lawmakers next week, to be followed by a meeting with members of both parties, in an effort to get health care reform legislation back on track.

"What I have been doing is consulting closely with the leaders in the House, the leaders in the Senate on the Democratic side," the president said in a pre-Super Bowl interview with CBS's Katie Couric. "And I want to consult closely with our Republican colleagues. So they are going to be coming into the White House next week. And what I want to do is to ask them to put their ideas on the table. Under different circumstances, I would agree with your reasoning... but this is the United States Senate (not some foreign country) we're talking about... where everyone should be cooperatively working toward this nation's best interest.

When I hear such things as: (paraphrasing) "I'm not even going to read the bill, and I'm voting against it" ... and seeing such IN ACTION ever since OBAMA took office (and even before that... since the 2006/2008 congressional elections)... I say it's time for ONE BIG NUKE (in the interest of HCR w/public option).

2. There *IS* a SENATE VOTE on same (see item #1)

3. Reid tells them, following said VOTE, "We are now ready to TALK with you about a myriad of other pressing matters... are you ready to TALK, or do we have to go NUCLEAR on your asses again?!"
