Justice Clinton?
It’s not as far-fetched as you might think. Mark McKinnon and Myra Adams on how Supreme Court retirements could persuade the secretary of State to take a high-court seat.

The political bombshell of the year could turn out to be Supreme Court Justice Hillary Clinton.

Don’t laugh. It’s politics. Stuff happens. And a lot stranger stuff has happened in recent years. Two words. Sarah Palin.

2. I think the only thing preventing this is her age. But it would set a nice precedent to get MObama
in in the future!

13. Okay, how about just an actual liberal?
I am obviously asking for too much. Republicans nominate the most far right zealots they can find, Democrats nominate center right moderates who are pro government and corporate power vs. the individual, which is exactly what Secretary Clinton would be (despite the howling of Rush Limbaugh to the contrary).

He and Hillary are pretty much the same politically so it would make sense for him to nominate a moderate like himself.

11. Yes, she would.
The senate is clubby, it's got a solid Dem majority and the folks in the senate liked her.

12. Think again
It doesn't matter how clubby it is. The republicans would relish the opportunity to keep her out.

15. READ ABOUT THE AUTHORS OF THIS PIECE (both highly partisan Republicans!):

Mark McKinnon, former media adviser for President George W. Bush, is a founding member of the new online political and social networking community HOTSOUP.com, which is debuted in October 2006.
In 2006, McKinnon started working on John McCain's 2008 presidential campaign.

-snip
In October 2005, President Bush nominated McKinnon to serve on the Broadcasting Board of Governors, which oversees U.S.-funded international media outlets including Radio Sawa, Al Hurra and Voice of America.
In April 2004, McKinnon, set up the consulting firm Maverick Media, Inc, "to handle advertisements" for Bush-Cheney '04 Inc.. "Campaign officials said the money covered television time in March <2004> and beyond, as well as production costs. The firm about $46 million throughout" Bush's 2004 presidential campaign. <4>

Myra Adams is a media producer, writer and political observer. Her media clients have included national associations, political interest groups and corporations. She was on the creative team with Mark McKinnon that created the now infamous John Kerry "Windsurfing" ad for the Bush 2004 presidential campaign and served on the McCain Ad Council during the 2008 McCain campaign. Myra's web site www.TheJesusStore.com contributes all profits to Christian charity.

19. Why would 2 highly partisan Republican push Hillary Clinton for the SCOTUS?
Edited on Wed Feb-10-10 11:43 AM by mod mom
Either:

1. because they know she will support their corporate agenda

or

2. it will cause more infighting among Dems and will stir up the RepublicanIndependent base to vote against Democrats.

Again, I repeat Hillary Clinton is a DLCer who chose to push a corporate agenda over one that benefitted the average person. NO THANKS!

27. As you know, Obama asked the DLC to remove his name:
http://www.blackcommentator.com/48/48_cover.html

and his first choice to the SCOTUS, Justice Sotomayor, was NOT a corporatist.

As President quoted yesterday, people are entitled to their own opinions but not their own facts.

that would really be a damn good decision. So Rahm won't let Obama make it.
