Just like we have the government we deserve, we also have the healthcare we deserve
Edited on Wed Feb-17-10 09:10 PM by Phoebe Loosinhouse
Let's all applaud our our "uniquely American" system that we must uphold and be mandated into with worse outcomes at higher costs than other smarter countries but we're too damn ignorant to acknowledge this or demand better.

Hence my OP title.

Until we are willing to discomfit ourselves and get out of our LazyBoys and into the streets we will continue to see the dismantlement of the lower and middle classes, wealth transfer upward, deaths, bankruptcies, job losses, foreclosures, foreign misadventures, and economic meltdown.

How bad does it have to get America, before we all get off our lazy ignorant complacent asses and demand better?

1. we could start by cancelling health insurance/care for all elected politicians so they can see how
most people live. then again, most politicians are either already wealthy or will soon be after their elections.

3. Thank you! Great link and yes I am ready to go
I have been actively looking for people in my area who are as fed-up as I am. I never thought I could possibly be one of those people holding a sign on a street corner but that's how disgusted I am.

Unlike the Tea Baggers, I know exactly why and who I am angry at and I also can articulate what I want ---- Single Payer.

4. Can I explore that a little further? Single payer as in Medicare Eligibility for All?
Or single payer as in government delivery of care?
