Today's Bite Me thread is about the TSA and their new random screening by roaming screeners

Please feel free to post your own Bite Me, even if it has nothing whatever to do with the OP.

So, in addition to these crotch sniffers patting us down as we pass "security", in addition to electronic strip searches, in addition to considering some form of cavity search, these professional initmidators will immediately start accosting INNOCENT CITIZENS to demand that they wipe you down and then sniff your residue.

"Yawr paypahs, pleaz. May I haff yaw paypahs?"

A minor Bite Me goes out to those citizens who see this as somehow reassuring. Even as MORE OF THEIR RIGHTS are being ERODED.






A respectful and admiring shout-out, however, to the incredibly wise and prescient Ben Franklin for this:

2. Hell with the prices of airlines tickets these days and the hassle of security

I havent flown in years. I only have to leave the state a couple times a year but I've been driving or taking the bus for years now. I got tired of it when all you had to do was take your shoes off and show them your laptop every time you went through security.

I don't know whats going to happen but I bet a lot more people will stop flying soon.

5. If you recall those swabs they took of your carry on ........ ?

..... they took swabs of your carry on and put the swab patch in a sniffer that could detect explosive residue. They are now using a portable unit and they will have roaming swabbers accosting people at ramdom and demanding to swab you and then sniff the swabs. The program was run in Charlotte as a test and gets rolled out nationally today.
