The fact that Glenn Beck is the Keynote Speaker at CPAC is very telling
The GOP are laying out the red carpet for the crazies, welcoming their new wacko foot soldiers with open arms.

Last year, Limbaugh was the keynote speaker. And we thought the right wingers couldn't get any lower.

Beck's CPAC 'coming out party'

As anticipation builds for Glen Beck's keynote speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference on Saturday night, so too do questions about his expanding footprint in conservative politics.

At the northwest Washington hotel where CPAC is meeting and where Beck will speak, it was hard to find any Beck items Friday amidst the Ann Coulter and Sarah Palin posters, Ron Paul and Michelle Malkin books, and other conservative paraphernalia for sale.

That might be a reflection of the slightly queasy feeling some conservatives have about the popular radio and Fox News television talk show host's fiery rhetoric and occasional targeting of Republicans, even as others hope Beck’s decision to speak at CPAC means he will try to bring his massive fan base into the conservative establishment.

~snip~

"There are a lot of people inside the conservative movement who are skeptical of Beck, thinking that he is more populist than conservative," said Erick Erickson, founder of the influential RedState.com blog. "He may be a little more populist than some conservatives might like, but he is innately a conservative guy," said Erickson, calling Beck's CPAC speech "a great way to finally have Glenn Beck's coming out party - I guess you could call it - as really a part of the movement, and it is a natural bridge to (the tea party) crowd."

~snip~

Beck has been unrelenting in his criticism of President Barack Obama, who he has called racist and compared to Adolf Hitler. And in a video posted on his website Friday, he hinted at his CPAC focus, warning that "Republicans need to get away from progressives. It is the cancer in our Constitution." On Saturday night, he said, he “may be pointing out a few progressives,” though some conservatives have opined that their brethren would do themselves a favor by refraining from bashing Democrats at the event.

2. The two things that ALL the tea 'bagger websites I have visited have in common are
Worshipping Glenn Beck and believing that Obama is a Socialist.

Glenn Beck is a patriot and a war hero and he could easily be our next president if he wants to. It is surreal to think anyone in the once great USA would criticize such a brilliant man when we have a foreign born, terrorist loving Muslim in the white house. Comparing the intellects of Beck and OMuslim is like comparing the basketball skills of Michael Jordan in his prime with those of an infant. I, like tens of millions, if not hundreds of millions, of Americans would gladly give me life for Beck if he instructed me to. If Beck were president, we wouldn't have to worry about Iran building any nukes, because we already have them and consequently there wouldn't be an Iran anymore. It's more than past time to bring the teachings of our Lord and savior back into the schools. Once we do that, we won't have to worry about Muslims being president.

------------------------------------------
Glenn Beck is a war hero?? What war...Did he actually serve in the military?

The people that follow him are as fucked as he is

10. You know, given how extremist the GOP have become
how they're courting the fringe, if the media continue to legitimize the GOP and their new fringe elements, and fail ~ post CPAC ~ to point out the obvious, then it only further proves their complicity.

8. Glenn Beck is a certified war hero

He fought valiantly in his marriages and obtained two divorces and continues to fight substantial substance abuse battles that have plagued his life.

25. Beck is a Mormon, and this ranter doesn't sound like one (just evangelical)...
I'll bet a thousand bucks that given his anti-Muslim feelings, if he learned all about what the Mormons believe his head would explode (or he'd grab his own gun and blow it off himself, one or the other).

14. Did you?
He said Progressivism is the cancer in America and it is eating our Constitution.

Then reading from some Communist manifesto from the 1930's he ties Progressives to Communism.

That's as far as I got so far on the replay.

15. What is populist about Beck?
Maybe I have the definition wrong: I thought it meant supporting policies that are beneficial to ordinary people. He supports all the typical right-wing stuff: more war, no taxes, cut all government services, especially to people who need them, and turn back to clock to pre-civil rights days. I think they meant to say "popular" because he is popular with a certain number of mouth-breathers.

16. Ask Blech this...
How is he going to pay for more wars if they lower taxes? Wars are expensive. Iraq alone is costing upwards of 2 trillion (with a T) dollars.

Edited on Sun Feb-21-10 02:32 AM by AsahinaKimi
According to the poster above,(from the right wing blog) is whatever the price of a couple of Nuclear bombs cost.. That is what the Right wingers want, they want to bow their heads and glorify the Mushroom clouds, as they turn the middle east into a blackened Sheet of Glass while waiting to be raptured up.

"So long,... and thanks for all the Fish!"
