If I had the President's ear I would recommend this
That he take every one of the "No" Democrats and the uncommitted Democrats to a closed door lunch at the White House and read them the fucking riot act. Tell them straight up that not a dime of Party money will to to support them from this moment forward and that he will support anyone that challenges each one of them if they challenge him on health care. Then get Harry in there and start stripping members of Committee assignments. Nancy, same thing. It is time to end the bullshit and make no mistake, the bullshit is coming from our own Party. So tell them to put their name in the "Aye" column or get the hell out of the Party. Act more like Lyndon Johnson than whatever in hell it is he's been doing for the last year.

He, not Harry or Nancy, is the head of the Party. It is up to him and this pandering to DINOs has got to stop and stop right now.

2. If you said that, he'd take back his ear.
The political spectrum in DC starts pretty far right of center, where a few brave souls live. Then, it moves further right to DLC land, where Obama lives, and continues into downright, bug-eating, loonie, nutjob, WhatTheFuck!? land where the bluedogs and republicans dwell.

Obama likes the gridlock just fine. It serves the status quo, which is HIS status quo. If he had any objection to gridlock, he would have done something about it a year ago instead of pretending to seek "bipartisanship."

5. Yeah, it's a big ol' dog and pony show
I'm surprised they even feel the need to place a veneer over what they intend to do to us.

3. I'd like to hope that this could happen too! But unfortunately the system's lobbyist money...
... will prevent anyone from being this hard-nosed about it.
