Bunning may have officialy started the Depression realization.
Well, with 1.2 million people set to have their benefits shut off next month Senator Bunning officially might have begun the bread lines. When you take away the only income stream people have access to, since we've been heavy on bank protection and light on job creation for 2 years since this mess started, you guarantee higher unemployment, forclosures, and small business failure. Simply put you just wiped out 1.2 million consumers. For the employed this guarantees lower housing values, lower wages (supply and demand), and you are going to be victims of crime more.

Of course if we focused on jobs instead of saving criminal bankers, we wouldn't be here now anyway.

"A hearty taste of Depression will teach you noisy American proles to just sit down and STFU while we reap oil and munitions, 'health' care, insurance, and mercenary profits. We 'elite' 'elect' and self-declared 'godly' republicon-minded fatcats may not even bother with the bread lines this time around what with the need for population thinning and all that. Sneer."

3. As an unemployed person running out of my benefits prematurely
Edited on Fri Feb-26-10 07:32 PM by ipaint
on march 1st, baring a miracle, I will be moving into my truck. I'm most certainly not planning to add to crime statistics.

What the employed need to worry about is the hundreds of millions of dollars that will be drained from their already brokestates and the regular business those of us who received UE checks brought to local businesses, landlords etc.

The buck stops with Reid on this one. He was been begged for two months to address this disastrous situation and he didn't.

I bet AIG gets their new loan, though.

4. It is disgusting
If the money dumped into AIG was given to a viable business. Maybe less people would be unemployed

6. Can't the Senate have a re-vote this week?
Edited on Sat Feb-27-10 07:33 AM by DemReadingDU
Or was Bunning's vote the end of the extensions?

14. the extenders will be attached to legislation that will be considered starting monday
and that appears likely to pass by the end of the week with retroactivity provisions making it effective back to March 1 (although these days nothing is certain in the Senate)

13. Yes and the democrats in the Senate than
are about as inept as the democrats in the Senate now.

At least they had a minority, not 58 members.
