7. MSNBC needs to stop showing that ridiculous graphic....
Of a giant wave crashing over 20 story buildings.

:eyes:

I don't think that's exactly typical of a tsunami.

10. Yeah didn't a bunch of people just die in Chile? And even more in Haiti a while back?
I could've sworn that I heard something about that. Must not have though, for SURELY the news would be covering such tragedies, had they happened!

I'm watching CNN too.

11. I had to laugh when they were calling some person walking on the beach idiotic
Right now CNN is sounding idiotic. And honestly starting to think that perhaps I'm idiotic for not turning off the TV

12. Eh. Grab a glass of wine and enjoy the pathetic display that is our media.
That's what I'm doing.

My favorite is when they admit that this might not be a big deal and are sure to add, "which is a GOOD thing!", when it's so obvious that's not how they feel at all.

14. They should also stop showing the video of the surfers...
It's three/4 hours old. The surfers have left the building.
I was hoping that our newshawks would set up their cameras where they could really show us all the changes on the beach which precede the wave. ..Say, overlooking Hilo bay, where the wave is supposed to hit first....overlooking it, beach to mid-ocean, so we could check out the changes for ourselfs..."discoloration...lower water levels, higher water levels" etc that they keep talking about , but, with the exception of one shot of a muddier river, they aren't showing us.
But they don't appear to have set themselves up that way. They're on Diamond Head, for example, which, if I understand water currents and pebble-in-a-pond effects at all, is not going to be affected quite so strongly as Hilo.
I'm disappointed, not because I want to watch carnage, but I'd hoped that with some 14 hours to set their cameras, they could have provided us with a real visual Mr. Science Experience.

15. KITV has a spokesman on from the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center..."Dodged a Bullet"
but probably won't call off the warning for atleast another hour or so.

16. I think CNN broke away just as that guy was going to speak.
After ten straight minutes of speculation from the local news anchor.

And now begins the transition away from Hawaii and to Chile, which apparently experienced an earthquake?
