Rove ‘proud’ detainees were waterboarded

By Agence France-Presse

A top aide to former US president George W. Bush has defended the use of harsh interrogation techniques, insisting he is "proud" of the methods and they had helped prevent terrorist attacks.

Karl Rove also told the BBC in an interview broadcast Thursday that he did not believe waterboarding -- a simulated drowning method -- amounted to torture.

"I'm proud that we used techniques that broke the will of these terrorists and gave us valuable information that allowed us to foil plots," he said.

2. Absolutely no proof of wills broken or plots foiled.
Rove can't tell the truth, even by mistake.

should experience a 2 hour waterboarding session. And THEN make that claim.

EDIT: I'd volunteer for the task, but with this guy I'm not sure I'd be able to stop at simulated drowning.

11. Why would anyone be proud of making someone else suffer?
Republicans who aline themselves with those who have sent soldiers to war without the right equipment while paying private companies giving them huge profits are beyond my understanding. Voting to deny veteran's medical help when they return home, fighting for insurance companies profit while denying insurance to those who have always paid the premiums, and then were dropped from care because they have an illness which will cut into the profits of insurance profits is again heartless.

Why are these cruel people not held to account? Is this proof that business must never be set free to gorge itself, because it will.
