9 Of The Weirdest Alien Landscapes On Earth (PHOTOS)
Hi guys, I found this on HuffPost and I thought I would share. My favorite is # 5, The Wave, Vermilion Cliffs, Arizona. Enjoy!

1. They're not even close
The missed this beauty:

A sort of south-of-the-border Fortress of Solitude, Mexico's Cueva de los Cristales (Cave of Crystals) contains some of the world's largest known natural crystals—translucent beams of gypsum as long as 36 feet (11 meters).

5. Well, technically, that's under the earth, not on it.
Nor is it a 'landscape'.

But it IS incredible.

11. Rain and wind, I believe.

Death Valley is my favorite place on earth. I've been there six times. (Once during the spring flower bloom. Amazing. Often during the heat of August- 128 degrees!)

The Devil's Racetrack is incredibly flat. Hard to tell from the picture, I know. IIRC, when it does rain, the water sits on top of the ground and the rocks slowly "move" as the wind pushes them. The Devil's Golf Course is the opposite of the Devil's Racetrack. It's a landscape of jagged, ankle-twisting ruts.

There are many unusual landscapes in Death Valley. Badwater is very cool.

I'm surprised Mono Lake isn't there. Also, the Pinnacles, while not the most alien landscape, is still awesome.

12. Not even remotely "alien"...

Several of these (including Antelope Canyon, Bryce Canyon, and The Wave) are every bit as standard photography locations as Yosemite or Yellowstone. You might as well talk about the "Weird Alien Landscape" of the Grand Canyon. :eyes:
