BWHAHAHA: J.D.Hayworth: " It’s The NEW John McCain, NON-MAVERICK EDITION."
Johnny McLame is experiencing ' selective memory loss '....

These guys lie like they breath air. They have NO shame. Time to run the ' Can You Guess How Many Times McCain Has Used The Term ' Maverick ' To Describe Himself CONTEST!

Lets Help John McCain keep his ' Maverick ' Title he's worked so hard over the past years to promote.

Hayworth ribs 'nonmaverick' McCain

Former Rep. J.D. Hayworth (R-Ariz.) told POLITICO on Monday that Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) is trying to “encourage amnesia” by claiming that he never considered himself to be a “maverick.”

Hayworth was responding to a quote in a Newsweek story in which McCain — who embraced the “maverick” label during his presidential run — said: “I never considered myself a maverick. ... I consider myself a person who serves the people of Arizona to the best of his abilities.”

In a telephone interview with POLITICO, Hayworth said that the four-term senator whom he is challenging in the Republican primary is “developing some instant revisionism.”

“It’s a word that has been expunged from his vocabulary,” Hayworth said. “If memory serves, his campaign plane was called ‘Maverick One,’ and, as I understand it, in national campaigns they spend a lot of time on that stuff.”

“If you’re scoring at home, how many reversals is this?” Hayworth added, running through what he sees as a litany of McCain position changes. “He’s moving away from legislative reversals into branding reversals. It’s the new John McCain, nonmaverick edition, for the Arizona Senate election.”

The former congressman — who lost his seat in 2006 to Democrat Harry Mitchell amid questions about his ties to disgraced lobbyist Jack Abramoff — said that McCain is motivated to shed the maverick label because “he knows we’re gaining ground.”

2. Yes, but the joke fails to be funny when
it's told by someone who is even more clueless than McCain.

RWers don't get irony at all.

3. I never thought he was a Maverick anyway....
but saying he isn't a Maverick is kind of Mavericky. So maybe he really IS a Maverick. It's not right that a confused old man should be allowed to mess with our heads.

6. Wow--McCain basically fed the guy a line to run away with.
Hayworth isn't the sharpest tool in the shed, but as a radio guy, well, he can make use of an opportunity.

It's kind of in line with McCain's inconsistency as a campaigner though, which was really on display in '08. When he's got Palin campaigning for him in AZ now, I'm trying to figure out which one is the Fonz and which one is the shark.
