Romney endorses "Leaky Pete" Hoekstra for governor of Michigan

I'm guessing Hoekstra plans on dissolving the state govt of MI and selling off the pieces. Then and only then would a Romney endorsement make sense.

Romney endorses Hoekstra for governor

WASHINGTON – Michigan native and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney – considered one of the front-runners for the Republican presidential nomination in 2012 – is endorsing U.S. Rep. Pete Hoekstra of Holland in the race for Michigan governor.

Romney, whose father George Romney, was governor of Michigan in the 1960s, endorsed Hoekstra through his Free and Strong America Political Action Committee. Romney won the Michigan presidential primary in 2008 before bowing out of the race.

“Michigan is special for me because it’s the place where I grew up and my father served three terms as governor,” Romney said. “For too long, Michigan has suffered with high unemployment and job loss. It is critical that we elect pro-growth conservative leaders who will keep taxes low, cut wasteful spending and create jobs. Pete Hoekstra has the capability and the right policies to get Michigan’s economy moving again.”

Free and Strong America PAC also announced that it has contributed the maximum $3,400 to Hoekstra’s campaign. Next Wednesday, on April 28, Romney will attend a fundraiser for Hoekstra in Grand Rapids.
