The Dems better get it together, but they probably won't. They've been bought by big business and Wall Street, and until there's campaign finance reform, we're stuck with this back and forth between political parties in Congress and the White House, hoping for a change, but instead, we stay on the slow, declining path we've been taking since the Nixon era.

1. Nuttiness drove people away from the GOP

As the GOP became more and more radical, uninformed and dangerous people abandoned them. Then the base that was left got even more radical. The same thing will happen again. When they pick up some seats in 2010 they will go full on radical, and drive everyone away all over again.

With the Arizona law, latinos won't be joining the GOP. And even though young people are leaning GOP more, I think that is temporary since the GOP still has nothing to offer.

It is more rebellion against one party rule IMO. Not that people are actually agreeing with the GOP on the issues.
