Army rendition of Gaga hit storms the Internet
Army rendition of Gaga hit storms the Internet

You expect homages to pop sensation Lady Gaga from the cast of the Fox prime-time TV hit "Glee." It's something else, though, when American soldiers deployed in Afghanistan take to YouTube for a lip-synched rendition of the video for the Gaga anthem "Telephone."

Members of the 82nd Airborne Division posted the video last week, and it went viral, logging more than 200,000 views to date. As The Smoking Gun pronounced in presenting the video's remarkable backstory, it's almost certainly "the most entertaining music video homage ever shot in a war zone." It's a largely faithful version of the controversial "Telephone" video — with, of course, certain allowances for improvised props, since it's hard to rustle up full spandex costumes in the desert wilds of Afghanistan's Farah province. You can watch the ingenious Gaga homage below:

6. That is cute, and the Gaga video is funny also.

I have heard it sucks to be in the wrong phone book, so ignoring is the right thing in that case.

Nothing against the soldiers, but someone that thinks homicide is funny? must be a wrong number calling them for sure.

That is way too harsh of me, and wrong of me to say.

My previous statement is an example of me taking a call from a wrong phone and making a less then nice statement. But only takes a second to realize that. So I agree, if you think the call is bad ignore it.

People get calls from both phones all the time, I spent years ignoring bad calls, still ignore bad calls myself.

Just because you get bad calls, does not mean you do not get good calls also, and both have many examples of good calls. Of coarse each person has to find a way to figure out which calls are good and which are bad.

In the metaphoric sense of phone on each shoulder.

I find lots of good calls like stuff in many songs and videos that are great to watch, like the people that sing great songs, including some from them, but there seems to always be both good and bad in everything, so it is how you choose to see it I think.

The video is actually cute as far as dancing and singing goes. And the soldiers did good also.

(I got in an arguement an hour or so ago, I think my first response might be left over from that.)
