With the unemployment rate in the country still hanging out over 10 percent food pantries are more desperate than ever for non-perishable donations. This Saturday the National Association of Letter Carriers will launch its annual "Stamp Out Hunger" food drive. The drive is the largest in the nation as citizens can take part by simply putting a bag with non-perishable food items in it on their door steps Saturday morning. The postal service takes it from there by picking up and delivering those items to a local food bank.
