Huff & Puff Dog and Pony Show

This whole "hearing thing" never changes, no matter which party is in power or which "bad guys" are in the hot-seat.

Anything of consequence is handled discretely behind-closed-doors...and that's why real change takes so long (if it ever happens).

There is BIG MONEY at play here, and the ones who HAVE the money, never let it go easily.

The ones questioning, know that their future campaign money (and perhaps employment) may be at stake here, so they know how to walk it right up to the edge, and when to ease off.

People watching, can view it all as 21st century politikabuki theater , and enjoy the show as they root for "their team", but forget that the wheels of justice often grind to a halt.

Oil companies have been "spilling" as long as they have been drilling...car companies have been turning out defective cars forever, pharma kills people every year because of laxity in testing, etc.

Big business is all in favor of big business, and congress is also all in favor of big business.

The "little people" have no real advocacy, and have not had it for a very long time (if we ever did have it).

I've been watching this "show" for decades and the plot line is always the same, even if the actors change:

scene #1...something horrible happens

scene #2... media tosses accusations all-round

scene #3... pollsters say the public is outraged..outraged I tell ya

scene # 4...senator so-an-so from anywhere USA demands hearings

scene #5... hearings commence

scene # 6..each in turn, the senators bloviate with personal invective/praise depending on the connection with/to the "invited/subpoenaed guests" in the hot seat....leaving 1 minute for the "response", which usually consists of "cannot remember", cannot recall", "don't know" or "those other folks did it..not me".

scene # 7... all parties agree to write reports and the problems eventually drop from the media

scene # 8...months/years later, lukewarm legislation is attempted...to right the wrong, and after much tweaking, a loophole-laden bill is signed by the president, and all is right with the world until the next catastrophe

scene #9 ...a new congress, years later convenes hearings to criticize congresses past for non-attention to problems that caused THIS catastrophe.

scene # 10...replay..starting with scene #1

2. I believe in rules applied back. I also think people are doing many things that make things better
Edited on Tue May-11-10 08:13 PM by RandomThoughts
Unfortunately some think they should have power or there should be nothing in existence. And not talking about government or private sector, but just a few people that think they have some right to being special.

So how is that rule applied back?

They would end up receiving no quarter. Which is really bad, and not my view on how things should be.

However I also think things should be just, or not at all, but not by action, but by knowledge that lack of justice leads to nothingness. So it is a view of things, not an action.

So if people want to mess everything up, what can you do. try to have fun, why I try not to worry about the oil spill, and instead think on better things getting done.

So might as well "Party Like Its 1999". In my mind parting is being nice to people, but people have different views on that also, why wouldn't they.

I am not worried, why worry.

Thinking a bit more,

It also always reminded of the pitfalls of self righteousness. Knowing we are all flawed. And actually see this song as a song of division, something that takes awhile to feel, but it should not be about no quarter, but a way to find peace and love. I remember thinking on this song for hours, since it has one meaning, justification, but without mercy.

Prince - 7
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AMjZm_C4Hhs

All 7 and we'll watch them fall
They stand in the way of love
And we will smoke them all
With an intellect and a savoir-faire
No one in the whole universe
Will ever compare

I am yours now and u are mine
And together we'll love through
All space and time, so don't cry
One day all 7 will die

All 7 and we'll watch them fall
They stand in the way of love
And we will smoke them all
With an intellect and a savoir-faire
No one in the whole universe
Will ever compare

I am yours now and u are mine
And together we'll love through
All space and time, so don't cry
One day all 7 will die

And I saw an angel come down unto me
In her hand she holds the very key
Words of compassion, words of peace
And in the distance an army's marching feet (1 2 3 4 - 1 2 3 4)
But behold, we will watch them fall

And we lay down on the sand of the sea
And before us animosity will stand and decree
That we speak not of love only blasphemy
And in the distance, 6 others will curse me
But that's alright (That's alright)
4 I will watch them fall (1 2 3 4 5 6 7)

All 7 and we'll watch them fall
They stand in the way of love
And we will smoke them all
With an intellect and a savoir-faire
No one in the whole universe
Will ever compare

I am yours now and u are mine
And together we'll love through
All space and time, so don't cry
One day all 7 will die

<(Just how old)>

And we will see a plague and a river of blood
And every evil soul will surely die in spite of
Their 7 tears, but do not fear
4 in the distance, 12 souls from now
U and me will still be here - we will still be here

There will be a new city with streets of gold
The young so educated they never grow old
And a, there will be no death 4 with every breath
The voice of many colors sings a song
That's so bold
Sing it while we watch them fall

All 7 and we'll watch them fall
They stand in the way of love
And we will smoke them all
With an intellect and a savoir-faire
No one in the whole universe
Will ever compare

I am yours now and u are mine
And together we'll love through
All space and time, so don't cry
One day all 7 will die

<(Just how old)>
<(Just how old)>
<(Just how old)>

So I will go and think on a tune that is a little more loving in my view. And is almost like a step after desire for justice, moving to forgiveness, I always found that a deep concept. I think it is more of what I believe, and how I should think considering the grace I have received.

Time After Time.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D-BgCuzxAKs

Lying in my bed I hear the clock tick,
and think of you
caught up in circles confusion--
is nothing new
Flashback--warm nights--
almost left behind
suitcases of memories,
time after--

sometimes you picture me--
I'm walking too far ahead
you're calling to me, I can't hear
what you've said--
Then you say--go slow--
I fall behind--
the second hand unwinds

chorus:
if you're lost you can look--and you will find me
time after time
if you fall I will catch you--I'll be waiting
time after time

after my picture fades and darkness has
turned to gray
watching through windows--you're wondering
if I'm OK
secrets stolen from deep inside
the drum beats out of time--

chorus:
if you're lost...

you said go slow--
I fall behind
the second hand unwinds--

chorus:
if you're lost...
...time after time
time after time
time after time
time after time

I post these thoughts just because I find them interesting not because I think they are relevant, that would be playing some game.

Catching flack for posting this, it does not mean that I agree with every song, just what I thought about when hearing the song. First song is a bit uncaring, not trying to help out, second song is a bit self rightous without mercy.

But the third song is a better one and one I like. I also see it as how many people develop they go through those stages.

First not caring, then thinking they are better and it will work out for just them, but then stepping up and helping people. Its like a narative of many people in story, just from my view.

heh, forgive me if this post goes astray. Just a thought.

Also I do not think of it as being correct, since I do not comment on the book of Revelation, but see it as an effect of some that do comment on it or add to it.

Do you see my point, even thought the second song talks about some good virutes like love, it still takes some satisfaction in death, and seems to be more of that vein of thought. There are ways to think on it that are not that bad, but it feels bad, yet seems to be part of many ideas where people think they are the special people that will take over after bad times.
