Maybe it is time to march for the planet.
And not just on Earth Day. Open this up. I know many people on the right in our area but who have a deep respect and love for the land. They actively work to preserve it and are involved in our local organic produce farming and market creation effort. They also understand the importance of maintaining the wetlands, forests, and waterways of the area. Perhaps it is time to quit with the screaming and start appealing to common sense. Not everyone will be on the front lines doing the heavy lifting because it takes special skills when legislation is involved that not all people have either the training or the wherewithall to pursue as a career. That is just the fact. It is my experience that asking for help and cooperation in an effort to confront the other requires some tapping of empathy and a sense of ownership of the problem. Let's call a march and link the oil disaster to future technologies and call for change.

2. How about a coalition of somebodies...the broader, the better.
Some of the toxicity needs to be drained from this swamp too. Lindsay Graham is trying to capitalize now on pushing back environmental legislation to score points politically. We need to make this an issue that people can find common cause around outside of DC. This is our land and our planet. Even those who most egregiously pollute her need to live on her. There is no reason why human beings should be pushed into committing mass suicide.
