Both of them are into the fame for the money. The difference is that Sarah Ferguson is just a charming nut and doesn't have a chance of being in government. Sarah Palin has a very good chance of it because American light heads take her seriously. There isn't a Brit who takes Sarah Ferguson or most of the British Royal Family actually very seriously at all.
