interesting fact I bet you didn't know
the republicans controlled the house for as many years From 1923-1995 as they did from 1995-2007 (12).
They also controlled the senate for as many years from 1931-1995 as they did from 1995-2007 (12).

3. in my opinion there are two reasons they were in power from 95 to 07
A) Fiscally speaking, the wealthy elite didn't exist as much in the 30s and 40s as a lot of people were
either poor farmers or middle class people living in the inner city. While the suburbs did become
popular after WWII, the exurban mcmansion thing didn't become prevalent until the 80s and 90s. The
growth of the upper middle class obviously helped them

B. The Republicans for most of this era were mostly apathetic to below the belt issues and when you add
to the fact that a lot of middle to working class families drank their family values koolaid and
voted against their interests, that helped them infiltrate the government.

5. C. Electronic voting machines began to be used on a large scale.
Take, e.g., GA 2002. Max Cleland with a 5% pt lead in major polls shortly before the election loses by 8% pts (13 pt flip). Barnes, the incumbent Dem governor, up by 11% pts before the election loses by 5% pts (16-pt flip).

This miraculous outcome was obtained by Diebold touch screens, totally secret vote counting, totally on cyber space, totally free of auditing or recounting, totally faith-based vote counting.

To varying degrees this has become the norm for American elections everywhere. What kind of results are to be expected?

If you had the capability to throw an election and you knew there was absolutely no possibility of anybody finding out, unless you turned yourself in, what would YOU do?

6. And Note The Results...
The rushpublican domination of the House & Senate in the 20s led to the Great Depression. The GOOP control of the 80s and 90s began the erosion and the 2002-2006 span under booosh when the GOOP had control of both Houses will be looked back upon as one of the most destructive times in American history.
