A Little Praise for Helen Thomas

She did the right thing by resigning. I don't believe for one minute that she is a bigot or that she is anti-semitic. I believe what she said came out wrong and I understand what she meant about "Israel getting off of Arab land". She should have left the statement at that. However, I am glad she resigned because it shows character. She is a damn fine journalist who knew that what she said, while stated in an unintended way, was still wrong and out of character for her as a professional journalist. You don't see bigots like Buchanan, Hannity, Beck, and their ilk resigning do you? That is because they are unprofessional and can hardly be called journalists. So, thank you Helen for your service as a journalist, thank you for being professional enough for resigning over something ill stated, thank you for your fine character and honesty, thank you for being who you are. This DUer won't forget you.
