Carville: Obama Needs to Lift Drilling Moratorium ASAP
http://www.mediaite.com/tv/james-carville-obama-needs-to-lift-drilling-moratorium-asap/

Perhaps surprisingly, Carville wants the moratorium on off-shore drilling to be lifted as quickly as possible:

“The moratorium is wrecking the economy down here…you take fishing and you take petroleum away down here and you don’t have a whole lot left.”

It goes without saying, that Carville thinks more “stringent regulations” should go hand-in-hand with a return to drilling but “properly regulated and properly done…it can be done much much better.”

1. Oh so the regulations are all fixed already?
That's reassuring.

2. Is no surprise
The "Ragin' Cajun" is from LA and he knows what is important down there. The spill having destroyed the fishing industry already, if you take away their oil industry there's not much left to keep them going.

Once again a detatched, clueless federal government screws Louisiana both coming and going.

36. I read here he owns a consulting
firm that does business with BP? Perhaps he has a conflict of interest.

9. Very wierd...
I was just reading this thread, saw your response, and immediately got an incoming e-mail from James Carville. With the subject line "The weather".

Talk about sychronicity...OK, it had nothing to do with the oil spill, it's a fundraiser for the DSCC using the teapartiers....but still.

6. Carville part of setup for Tuesday speech?
It finally looks like Carville is back onside with the White House.

When Obama announces the end of the brief drilling moratorium in his speech tomorrow, Carville will be there applauding.

The great news is that once Obama puts in his real tough new deepwater oil extraction regulations, there will never ever be another deepwater oil blowout, never ever again, and the oceans will be safe forever!

Yeah, right. For sure.

7. It's a moratorium on new drilling
There are still 4,000 wells going down there. I don't know what the hell game these people are playing. Carville sure exposes who he is, no wonder he can live with Matalin so well. He's probably just like her.

11. Ahh, Skeletor is back to full on corporate shill stupidity mode
What could possibly indicate to these morons that we can drill safely now?

Have there been some new technologies developed while I slept? Is Uncle Sam now up to a legit oversight role?

Wanting to resume drilling at this point is stupicidal.

15. How can they continue drilling with oil globs in the water?
That's like the drunk who keeps drinking even though he can't stand up any more.

That's just crazy talk, a voice of desperation. What good is money when your environment is killing you? And that is where we are headed if we keep drilling.

Thank God, there is no drilling off California. Our state may be bankrupt, but we have protected our environment. We remember what really thick smog was like. We remember the harm the Santa Susannah waste dump caused. We have to live with frequent menacing forest fires. Environment first.

The rigs that exist continue to pump, but I understood they are not drilling new rigs. Am I wrong?

29. James Carville co-founded a BP-linked company
He (Greenberg) is the CEO of Greenberg Quinlan Rosner, a polling and consulting firm, and co-founder (with James Carville and Bob Shrum) of Democracy Corps, a non-profit organization which produces left-leaning political strategy. He is married to Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro, who currently represents Connecticut's 3rd congressional district.

That dickhead's time long ago passed. At first he's all enraged about the oil spill and Obama's reaction to it, and now he wants to drill more?

Enough of Bi-Polar boy. Go choke on some oil fuckface.
