South Carolina Party To Review Complaint About Greene's Victory

Voters complained of pushing touch screens to select Senate candidate Vic Rawl only to see the name Alvin Greene repeatedly pop up, Rawl said Monday as he announced his filing of a formal protest of last week's Senate nomination stunner in South Carolina.

Rawl filed a challenge with the state Democratic Party, reports Glenn Smith of the Charleston Post and Courier.

Speaking at a news conference, Rawl said, "There is a cloud over Tuesday's election. There is a cloud over South Carolina that affects all of our people, Democrats, Republicans, white and African-American alike. At this point, the people of our state do not have the basic confidence that their vote will be counted."

The state party's executive committee will take up the issue on Thursday.
