really, one can't believe it.

Khaled Nabawy is accused with a charge of 'normalization with Israel' by the Egypt's Actors Guild.
even working together, or embraces, seem to be a problem now for some.

The head of Egypt's Actors Guild, Ashraf Zaki, has decided to launch an inquiry against Egyptian actor Khaled Nabawy for "normalization with Israel" over his role in Doug Liman's American film "Fair Game" alongside Israeli actress Liraz Charhi.

Nabawy was criticized by Egyptian officials after being photographed embracing Charhi on the red carper during the Cannes International Film Festival, where the movie has its world premiere and took part in the official competition.

The different professional associations in Egypt forbid any type of normalization with the Jewish state and strongly condemn any association member who challenges this demand.
...
Arab websites that reported the affair noted that Charhi was "an Israeli actress of American descent, who served in the army for two years before turning to acting and appearing in a number of American films."

just spotted, looking for more news about the 2010 case:

The chairman of Egypt's Actors' Union said Thursday that the group planned to investigate one of the country's brightest young movie stars for appearing in an upcoming miniseries with an Israeli actor.

The controversy began when the group discovered that Amr Waked, who starred in the Hollywood film Syriana, was in Tunisia filming a four part series on Saddam Hussein's life opposite Yigal Naor, an Israeli of Iraqi descent.

"We found out Amr Waked was participating in a movie with an Israeli artist and so when he returns from abroad he will be investigated," union chairman Ashraf Zaki said. "The Actors' Union here is against normalization with Israel."
...
Zaki said Waked would be questioned by a committee made up of two members of the union's board and a senior judge from the country's Administrative Court.

3. Yikes! How nutty and depressing!
Of course, if Jews and Arabs get too friendly on a personal level, then we may find PEACE breaking out, and we can't have that, can we?!
