. . .about not crossing the line in our criticism?

FUCK THAT, FUCKETY, FUCKETY, FUCK THAT!

Andrea Mitchell just asked if the NAACP crossed the line with its resolution.

13. Ever seen one before?
Ever see Republicans put up this kind of sign about any other President? Ever?? I don't think any liberal group ever even put up a billboard like this about Bush.

Why do think they can get away with propagating the worst kind of hate against a President that I've ever seen?

18. Because it's a free country. And demanding an apology is the worst thing we can do.
First, demanding an apology from a group for saying exactly what they meant to say is kind of stupid.
Second, like the first, it gives a group of extremists a chance to distance themselves from self-damaging comments that they meant to make.
Third, it makes us look pretty think-skinned. Obama CHOSE to run for President; he doesn't need us protecting him.

28. That's not an answer
When did you ever see billboards claiming the President was a Hitler/Stalin Communist Traitor? Billboards paid for by a political group connected to a potential presidential candidate??

30. moveon.org had some racy stuff back in the day
but whatever, it's a moot point. freedom of speech prevails. the tea partiers only took it down because it makes them look stupid.

2. +1. Andrea Mitchell is an idiot. And, it's actually just the opposite.
The NAACP is doing something that the left has been yelling about for year. They are making the 'teabaggers are racist' a national story.

There is plenty of video and images proving this, so it makes it hard on the media. They can't bury it and make it go away. Of course, idiots like Mitchell will always try.

Maybe I'm just blind today.

ETA: This press release doesn't link to the text and I'm not sure if it even quotes the text:

7. What you said Wndy.
I am pretty sick of being expected to "excuse" blatant racism. It sucks that the people that call it out are supposed to "be careful". Oh, and lets not forget they are expected to apologize for their statements. Fuck 'em!

10. Tea Party Express Spokesman: NAACP Is Racist
Mark Williams, Tea Party Express Spokesman: NAACP Is Racist (VIDEO) (TRANSCRIPT)

Tea Party Express spokesman Mark Williams fired an unexpected response to a challenge from CNN contributor Roland Martin.

Asked to tell racists "you're not welcome" in the tea party, Williams replied, "Racists have their own movement. It's called the NAACP."

The exchange came on Wednesday's edition of CNN's "The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer." A day earlier, the NAACP passed a resolution condemning the tea party for tolerating racism.

Williams wasn't alone in defending the tea party, as Sarah Palin took to the airwaves on Fox News to discuss the situation with Sean Hannity. While Palin is often a polarizing figure, Williams managed to outflank her in nine words

19. Every time Mark Willams opens his mouth

racism comes out. He will probably be the first Tea Party leader to come out and say the N word openly and unabashedly.

11. Then she shows a clip with Sarah Palin as if someone should
apologize to her! When was the last time such a nobody got so much media coverage. Mrs. John Birch herself (Palin) on Fox denying the tea party has racist members. Where is that pic of Palin reading the John Birch rag when she was Mayor of little Wasilla? It's a good reminder of her roots.

To them, it's racism to point out or to talk about racism, but those who are its targets have to sit down and shut up and listen to the denials--to hell with that! :grr:
