Repubs And Corp. Media Are Going To "SHOCKED" Come Nov.
There is some serious propoganda and narrative pushing going. The Repubs and corp. media are trying to flex their "reality shaping muscles" with this propoganda assault about how the Repubs are poised to win big, but for a variety of reasons (not the least of which are these here tubes we've now got) it's not going to be so effective this time.

Come November there's going to be some serious reality smacking going on.

But you heard it here first.

Great post on Kos about the current slew of seemingly horrible poll numbers for Dems and why you should be wary of them:

The 2010 Election: Anonymity and the promise of poll volatility

1. They are getting the story out now so that when they rig the election, it won't be a surprise.
Same shit, different year...

8. B..I..N..G..O
Democrats are poised to take more seats than ever in Congress. If the media told the truth then people would be angry, shocked and suspicious with Republican wins in November. If media is putting out the lie now, then people will just roll over come November... or at least that is what is hoped for.

19. So you think that the team that got bush selected in 2000 and caused
the loss of Kerry in 2004 has been dismantled?

20. I Think Obama Was Able To Get Elected So "They" Are Not Infallible
Edited on Fri Jul-16-10 11:14 AM by Beetwasher
I think we took over Congress in '06, increased our majority in '08 and Obama got elected, so obviously Dems can win elections, despite the possibility of rigging.

3. The Republicons trashed America's economy and honor for years to come
The citizens of these United States will not welcome them and their deviant Family Pharisee Values back into power anytime soon.

Fool me once, shame on you...That's quite enuf...

4. I'm not so optimistic
I hope you're right, but it's only July and it's an eternity between now and November in politics. Anything can happen (and usually does).

6. I don't see that at all..
looking at the polls, it appears to me like it's all about damage control at this point. Sure, things can change by Nov., but right now..things don't look good..

7. You Didn't Read The Kos Post Did You? Polls Are Meaningless Right Now
But if you like polls, how about these? Reid now up by 7 in Nevada. Blumenthal up by 17 in CT.

17. Yes I did read Kos..
Edited on Fri Jul-16-10 11:11 AM by Upton
and I don't accept the proposition that polls are meaningless right now. If the polls were showing we were headed for a landslide victory, I have a feeling a different tune would be sung..

Btw, Blumenthal was always going to win...and Reid should be able to take somebody as crazy as Angle. Interesting though, the way you don't seem to find these two polls "meaningless"

22. I Have A Feeling That If The Polls Showed A Landslide For Dems, You'd Tell Us To Be Wary Of Them
So I agree with you, I think you would be singing a different tune.

Me? I've never given polls in July much credence, but apparently YOU do, which is why I posted those other polls for YOU.

9. When Joey Scar is in a bad mood, you know the POTUS and Dems
in general are doing very well. He closed out a segment this a.m. with "Uncle Pat" saying (paraphrase) that the oil spill was a political disaster for POTUS. Of course Pat agreed with him so I felt good. They got nothin' folks, nothin'.....The POTUS had a great week, those little wins here and there really get under their skin.

11. My prediction: all hell breaks loose by Sept. or Oct.
Something big happens in the Middle East...Gaza, Lebanon, Israel, Pakistan, wherever. Bombs go off and bullets fly. "Terrorist" activity erupts. Maybe Iran will suddenly look like it's going to nuke us all at a moment's notice... I can't say what exactly it would be, but it'll occupy the M$M for the weeks up to the November election. Then by Christmas, everything will somehow calm down. Oh, and did I mention gas prices will skyrocket as a result of the conflict?

I'll give you one guess as to which party benefits most.

13. Rupublicans......
....have publicly proven themselves to be liars (death panels & birthers), thieves (still waiting for trickle down, Wall Street coddling), uncaring (no more unemployment bennies) for those hurting (attempt to destroy health care) and down. Their screaming and ranting and fear mongering are all an attempt at manipulating. How is it that these traits are worthy of a vote?

I hesitate a guess that the media and the Republicans are doing their spin now. They tend to blow their collective wads very early. Last few cycles of passage of laws, has the Dems blitzing later in the game. I think it tends to pay off. There is more to this strategy than is being given credence.

23. Unfortunately most people never pay attention or have any idea what citizenship means.
Most people are clueless and are easily manipulated with total nonsense. As ignorance of the electorate goes up, good citizenship goes down. When I talk with people they are almost totally ignorant of candidates and the issues. Very few people do the necessary work to be good citizens and they don't even view citizenship as a duty or a responsibility. Jefferson felt ignorance was one of the greatest threats to our country's existence. If the level of ignorance keeps going up our country's future is very bleak.

I'd like to see campaign ads outlawed and only have debates which the media would be required to air on every channel at the same time. Maybe it would make people become more responsible and aware citizens.

24. The inept & dishonest media loves horse races & conflict
If no conflict exists they create it. That's why they are deceiving people with constant stories about how republicans will pick up huge numbers of seats and take over congress.
