How much is enough? How far will he be allowed to go? Who's going to stop him?
I've read so much, I've seen so much, I've heard so much, enough to make me want to scream.
Enough to make me want to tear my hair out, rend my clothes, bash my head against a wall.
Enough.
I think the breaking point came the other day when someone posted this thread:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x66228
showing pictures of Tehran as it is now...before Bush.
And seeing those innocent faces, seeing those other human beings, I started to wonder...
if Bush has his way, are all of these people going to die? Are all of these faces going to be covered in blood? Are these building going to burn to the ground? Will this city be smoking rubble? Will they feel shock and awe, will they clutch their dying children and wail in despair?
That was it. I couldn't think anymore, couldn't bear to have those images in my head any longer. It's just too much.
And I just have to wonder, I have to ask...
wasn't Iraq enough for you? Haven't you killed enough people already? Haven't you shed enough blood? Aren't you satisfied? Hasn't God given you the thumbs up yet? Or is your perverted version of God screaming for more bloody sacrifice?
How do you sleep? How can you sleep without all of those souls clinging at your heels? How can you not be tossing and turning in the night, praying, begging for release from the furies that give you no respite, even in your dreams??
No.
You sleep like a baby. Like a pure, innocent little baby with a soul like freshly fallen snow.
You don't think at all of the blood you spill, of the homes you destroy, of the lives you ruin.
And now you've set your sights on Iran. So you can kill more, and more, and more. So you can widow more wives, orphan more children, decimate more homes, tear apart more familes.
So more of our troops can go off to die in your name. For you. For your cause.
Not the cause of America or its people, but for you, and their blood is on your hands.
So now I ask...
How much farther will he be allowed to go? Who's going to stop him? When will enough be enough?
I'll tell you when...
WHEN CONGRESS GROWS SOME FUCKIN BALLS AND IMPEACHES THE BASTARD.

For a president that has mocked and raped the constitution in the way that this one has, it is only fitting that is our democratic processes that stop his rampage.
Enough. Enough squabbling over our cantidate for '08. Enough squabbling over ridiculous and inconsequential things that have no bearing on the big picture. Enough dicking around and making excuses. Enough strong words, because words are just words. Enough 'on the table' 'off the table' bullshit, because it's just bullshit, and just talk.
Dennis Kucinich is one Rep. I've heard talking seriously about impeachment. Unfortunately, I haven't heard many (if any) other voices besides his in Congress using words such as these.
NEWS FLASH DEMS: YOU GUYS WON IN '06 BECAUSE THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ARE SICK OF THE IRAQ WAR AND THE BS.
WE WANTED AN END IN SIGHT.
But that hasn't happened. All we have are words, words, words.
The time for words is past.
I'll make a deal with you, Rep. Kucinich. If you are the one, the one who finally says 'ENOUGH' and gets the ball rolling on impeachment, you will be my fucking hero for life.
I will support you in every endeavour, I will vote for you, even contribute money if I can, because you will have been the only one with the courage to say that we, the American people, will not take this anymore.
It won't stop. It won't go away. It won't end. Not if we close our eyes, look away, and pretend we don't see.

Impeachment is the only way, because HE will not stop, unless he is stopped. The time for arguing amongst ourselves and wringing our hands and engaging in personal attacks and snide remarks is over. THIS SHOULD BE OUR NUMBER ONE PRIORITY, DEMOCRATIC UNDERGROUND: THE IMPEACHEMENT AND REMOVAL FROM OFFICE OF PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH AND VICE PRESIDENT RICHARD CHENEY.

Oh yes, strong words. More strong word. Bush is SOOO scared of those strong words, guys.

Oh man, uh oh. I don't know if I can handle the intensity.

have been impeached long ago. If the repukes in Congress had any sense of decency or respect for the Constitution, it would have happened already. Of course they're a bunch of jackbooted thugs and enablers of all the "high crimes," so now the ball is in the Dems court.

And it shouldn't matter whether or not the Dems in Congress think they have the votes. The unelected fraud sitting in the WH doesn't give a flying fuck about the Constitution. He's abused the office. Lied the country into an unnecessary, illegal war. Spied on American citizens. Declared himself above the law. Now he's threatening to start another preemptive war.

There's no alternative. The Constitution is very clear. A President who commits "high crimes and misdemeanors" is subject to removal by impeachment, trial, and conviction. By not acting, the Congress is continuing to shirk one of its most important responsibilities.

11. A considerable number of repukes thought it was
their Constitutional duty to impeach Clinton for his private behavior. Yet, these same hypocrites can't see their way clear to even investigate the henchmen of a criminal cabal that's been using the Constitution as toilet paper for years.

There is nothing, however, now standing in the way of the Democratic members of Congress who should be pressing for impeachment rather than making excuses and taking it "off the table." That just makes them look weak, spineless, and IMHO foolish - given the speed with which proceedings would begin if the tables were turned.

They SHARE the responsibility of the blood and pain and angst among everyone.

52. Oh absolutely. Yes, I was letting them off too easy.
A local 20 year old Marine from this area was killed in Iraq Saturday. I've been thinking about him a lot. A family friend was quoted in the local paper as saying that he joined the Marines straight out of high school because he wanted to participate in the "War on Terror" and go after those "responsible for 9/11."

If the media in this country had been doing its job, if the Democratic Congress had been doing its job, perhaps that kid would have been clued in that the war in Iraq is not a "War on Terror" but a war for oil and corporate profit and that Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. Maybe that kid would be in college instead of in a morgue.

No question that everyone who voted for the IWR, every media outlet that unquestioningly led the cheerleading....have that young Marine's - and the blood of every victim of this immoral and illegal conflict...on their hands. All of them - guilty as hell.

I had hoped a patient approach would work, but I was naive. The evil duo will not stop...or even slow down until Congress impeaches them both. They need to act now before any further escalation of world violence can be implemented by Vice President Satan and his impish evil monkey boy. I'm going to call my Congress Critter and ask when we will see some action.

But impeachment is a far cry away from soon enough .

I certainly don't have the answers on how this can be done .

There were the protests in DC however I fear these will not be enough even though the hopes are high .

We are dealing with criminals of the highest sort who seem to have gotten away so far and look what the result has been .

I will never understand why the dems sat back and let them get this far for 6 long years . They may not have been the majority still they could have got behind the people , that's what their job is .

I'll ever truly forgive the Dems, for being partially responsible for the Iraq war, and for not doing more to stop him...I feel like so many of them bent over and just took anything he rammed up their ass.

I wonder where Laura will go? She seems like a good person, but she remains with the devil himself. Is she guilty by association? Is she guilty because she doesn't talk him out of his foolish escapades. If she could get him to stop drinking and doing drugs...why can't she talk him out of this escalation of troops and not bombing Iran if she is so persuasive? Can she redeem herself by leaving him or is it too late?

Democrats...no strike that, AMERICANS should put aside their parties, our country is in danger, our consititution is in danger. This should not be a party issue. What is more important?

You nailed it. Impeachment is the only way out because there are only two ways to stop the war: One is to cut off the funding. That won't happen. The only other choice is to impeach the fucker, cause him to resign under even the remote threat of conviction, and then that will finally be an excuse to put an end to all the madness.
