Damn straight, I would and will vote for Obama! Here's just part of the reason why:

His race and the vote are discussed here as well.

1. Damnit...my threads are never controversial enough to get noticed!
Hmmm...maybe I should have made the title, "If you are not voting for Barack Obama, you can go fuck yourself!"??

2. peacebaby, I'll caucus for him in the primary season and vote for him in the general election, too.
I think the time has come for a major look forward into the future. A new set of eyes that do not look back on the same old lost battles and can see an America not endlessly fighting the Vietnam War or the Cold War. I'm one of late Boomers, and we are still bogged down in the jungles of Viet Nam, just as our parent were continually refighting the great wars. It is more than time for a change. It is time for a person born to the next generation to address issues that we are myopic about or have become numb or blinded to.

I support Obama because this nation and the world need to be able to feel hope and to step toward a new future with out fear. I think this man is decent and gifted, and he can lead us to just that spot. I don't want recycled Clinton retreads or the people who have long grown accustomed to the self-perceived importance of their own bloviating. Bring me a fresh voice that doesn't speak in sound bites and who is closs enough to his last job as a civilian to address my concerns. Bring me someone who understands ths struggles of minorities and women and for whom addressing those issues is not an academic exercise for a closed audience. I respond to the authenticity of this man's voice. There is sincerity in it. There is also a willingness to admit his own shortcomings. After the last couple of decades of actors, dissemblers, and outright cons, bring me some truth and honor.
