2. An excellent idea, but I fear . . .
This event will devolve into Secretary Duncan webcasting his answers to pre-selected questions submitted to Ed.gov. Among those questions will be:

1. Are you the greatest Secretary of Education evah?
2. How great is the Obama administration and its people?
3. Can you describe, in words, just how terrific you and your policy proposals are? Because despite having a bachelor's degree and two post-graduate degrees, I can't.

Now, that third one may have snuck in there somehow, but Secretary Duncan will give it his all.

6. The talking points seem to have already been set
From the ed website:

Looking forward to Thursday’s event, we invite teachers to consider some of the questions that the Secretary and the studio audience and listeners will discuss — questions such as…

What can we do to enhance the teaching profession?
How can we do a better job of encouraging and rewarding excellent teaching?
How can we do a better job of measuring success?

8. Potemkin interviews.
Sad. Manufactured consent isn't going to work for them. They must have dusted off Reagan's files when they got the keys to the office at the DOE.

3. I'll post even though you asked to be deleted. THEM are good questions
So it will be interesting to see what questions he takes (like ones they made up) and how they are spun.

9. Remember the fencing protecting the band from the bar crowd in "Blues Brothers"?

They might want to think about renting that stage.
