Code Pink March - (hey dial-uppers there's a couple photos)
While sitting outside for lunch a Code Pink march marched by. I took these real quick.

2. 202 is a DC area code, and that area looks familiar to me, so it looks like it.
I'm from Duh-hio but visit there often to cleanse the Red off.

Although it WAS a welcome sight coming back from PA and reading the "Welcome to Ohio . . Gov Ted Strickland" on the sign instead of that dumbass TAFT.

7. Bruce!!!!! Welcome back Bruce! Great to see you again!
Bit of history and a photo from a couple yrs ago. I am very glad to see this gentle man again. Thank you for the pictures.

6/18/06 Apparently Bruce came in contact with a live wire during an electrical storm this morning. He is burned over 40% of his body and is now in critical care in Minneapolis. There is not any brain damage, he did lose two fingers.

6/19/06
I talked to one of Bruce's 2 sons. He is heavily sedated and not responsive beyond barely opening his eyes when they talk to him. Operation tomorrow to see if they can save his arm. If not it will have to be amputated at the elbow.

6/23/06
Bruce had his 3rd surgery on Thursday and his arm has been amputated to below the shoulder. The swelling in his face is going down and every day he is looking more like my Father!

8/06
A huge hello to all of you who have been using this amazing site "Caringbridge" since my accident more then eight weeks ago. You are so beautiful, loving, and caring, it makes me cry. I love you all so much...THANK YOU!!!

Yes, this is Bruce, home and up for the next challenge. But, before I forget to mention this, you all need to know from my somewhat bias point of view that the quality of care at Hennepin County Medical Center Burn Unit in downtown Minneapolis is next to none. They were obviously a major player in my survival and recovery, whom I will forever be grateful.

About the challenge I spoke of earlier, for the first four to six weeks home, my loving wife Lois and son Alex will be my caregivers. Although it's an absolute dream to be home, the structure and regiment of therapy, meds and dressing changes, is the only answer to a successful one and a half to two year recovery. Your early prayers and thoughts are still working and I'm certain will continue through this last long step.

Those of you who may not know what my current condition is... the electrical accident caused third degree burns on forty percent of my body, there were skin grafts used to cover the burns from my legs. I lost the majority of my left arm to just above the bicep muscle. The good news...my dominant right arm was unaffected as were all of my senses. I am happy to report that I still maintain the ability to walk the streets with the people...

9. More pics here - there were 27 arrests last I heard
http://www.NoWarYesPeace.com/motherofamarch/

The "Mother of a March" began at noon in Lafayette Park. There were many inspirational speakers and two musical groups. We marched to the Capital at around 2:30. Once there, we blocked the street and around 27 people were arrested when they wouldn't move to the sidewalk.

It was really empowering, invigorating, and a whole bunch of other things I can't quite describe. I'd never seen people get arrested before. Sure I heard about it, but I never was a witness before today.
