Hasn't anyone mentioned this site, Conservapedia???
I haven't seen any threads on it, but apparently wing-nuts consider Wikipedia liberally biased (I guess its either because there's an article on evolution or a lack of "Bush = God" ones), but this is really pathetic ... there people are determined to created there own facts.

Or maybe its a farce and I missed the joke ... here it is: http://www.conservapedia.com/Main_Page

1. yeah, now they "need" their own version of the truth
reality doesn't suit them, so they are out to create a new truth?

3. Well, we all know that the truth has a liberal bias
Since extreme conservatives/right wingers oppose science, facts, reality, and the truth, creating their own wikipedia is necessary for them.

4. Yeah, it's been mentioned a bunch of times
And, yeah, it is a farce and a joke. At least to anyone with a reasonable amount of brain power. But, no, I think some people actually take it seriously. Anyway, the "scientific" entries are definitely the most cringe-inducing. They had one on gravity that I believe has since been pulled, but that surely had to be written by a liberal smartass, not a true conservative. No one could be that dumb. (Basically, it stated that gravity, like evolution, is just a fake theory that will someday be supplanted by an alternative, godly one. Hilarious!)

5. somebody mentioned it here last week...
Funny story. So, I went to that site and just for the hell of it, typed in "fuck you" in the search box. It came up with zero hits. (although it was kinda funny that it said "your search terms, 'fuck you' have returned 0 results".)

So, then I thought, gee, I wonder what wikipedia would come back with if I did the same over there? So, I do the same thing at Wikipedia and it returns a enlightening page full of info on the history of the word "fuck".

Perhaps a more apt name for Conservapedia would be Censorpedia or maybe HeadinSandopedia...

6. I heard a story about this on NPR
The people who run Conservapedia claim that WIkipedia is biased to the left. Wikipedia countered that they take not just an American approach, but a world-wide approach - about a number of issues (they don't just take the American political paradigm into consideration).

It seems that the people who run Conservapedia live in a bubble world. As if RW America is the only norm.

8. Yes, I have -- even real conservatives call it "Delusiopedia"
There is not "Bush = God" article there yet, but I'm sure we'll soon see one titled "Reagan = Jesus."

10. that place is a joke...
Nice how they are original enough to copy the Wiki look-feel...

Look what the have entered for chimpy's economic issues...

http://www.conservapedia.com/George_W._Bush

Economic issues
Though the liberal media continues to disparage Bush's handling of the economy, they often neglect to report the many aspects of the economy that Bush has improved. For example, during his term Exxon Mobile has posted the largest profit of any company in a single year, and executive salaries have greatly increased as well.<3> This is due to changes in the stock market that lead to a record high in 2006. Corporations show profits growing by double digits growth.<4> Even the working class is benefiting from the Bush economy, as unemployment hits an all time low in March 2007.<5> Bush worked with Democrats to raise the minimum wage to a more livable level.<6>

13. The "look and feel" is because they're using the Wikimedia software.
The "look and feel" is because they're using the same Wikimedia software
that powers Wikipedia. Lots of Wikis do, not just Wikipedia itself.
