Dino Rossi could be in trouble
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0710/40469.html

By DANIEL STRAUSS | 7/30/10 1:48 PM EDT

For Washington Senate candidates Paul Akers and Clint Didier, it’s been a struggle to convince national Republicans that GOP frontrunner Dino Rossi isn’t twice the candidate that each of them is.

So the two underdogs have come up with a solution: they’re teaming up.

Akers, an inventor, and Didier, a former NFL player, announced Thursday night that they will run radio ads together to present voters with a choice for Senate other than Rossi and Democratic Sen. Patty Murray, the two-term incumbent. They’re planning to air their first spots starting Monday, with the intention of running them over a two- or three-day period.

Akers and Didier plan to share airtime in their commercials, taking turns talking about their political views. They haven’t decided how many ads they’ll produce or how much they will spend to run them.

This could be bad for Rossi. I see a whole lot of signs up, I live on the east side of the state, for Didier. If the two of them can get enough votes in the primaries Rossi could be toast. The two with the most votes get on the ballot no matter what party they are in, but with three of them running on the republican ticket, and the fact Rossi has lost both times he ran for governor, he may not be one of them.

I think Murray can get enough votes to get on the ballot, but it is going to be interesting to see what happens with the "other" choice come November. I think a lot of voters are tired of seeing Rossi lose come election time and with two other republicans running, it just may be the end of Rossi's run for congress!

2. He must like to lose!
I think it's all about his ego, that or losing is fun to him!

I just hope this time he never makes it on the ballot.

3. The only person worse than Rossi, yes there is someone
is Tim "I'm not cashing on initiatives" Eyeman.

both are self-serving self-worshiping jerks.

4. Rossi is somewhere to the right of the neocons
He's attempting to paint himself as a "populist". It's obvious to anyone who spends more than five minutes looking into him and his "ideas" that he would be a disaster for the state of Washington.

Even more, I'm laughing myself into a coma at his commercials. He seems to think Patty Murray doesn't work hard. She's been working since the day she went to Washington. Rossi has all kinds of theories, but NO experience.

16. Yep, but
His debates last time he ran were even funnier! He seemed to always have this grin on his face no matter how bad he looked, or how bad his answers were! Like most republicans, facts mean nothing, and the always resort to cheap shots like Murray doesn't work hard It's all he has!

5. Which is likely to run as an Independant id he loses?
Maybe if Akers or Didier beats him, Rossi might. Wasn't he one of those crybaby sore loser Republicans who challenged the vote, accused Dems of cheating, and never went away?

7. Not in this election.
WA is now has a "top two" primary system. Party does not matter, only the top two vote getters move on.

8. Didier is as bad a s Rossi
Mr. Independent Individual was shredded in a Danny Westneat column (Seattle Times) for his phony position.
As Westneat reminds us - Eastern Washington could never have been agricultural without the irrigation from the Columbia River - one of the most expensive federal projects ever!
To say nothing of his farm subsidies and the taxpayer purchased sports stadiums.

10. Didier is just more openly loony.
And he apparently measures everything according to his past experience in the NFL.

11. The less of Rossi there is in national politics the
better.

I'm for Murray and hope she prevails in this one with big numbers.

13. Two-time loser Rossi....
ought to lay low for at least a few years before running for anything again. A third major loss will brand him a joke and the GOP kiss of death.

17. So true.
And Rossi is yet another example of Republican determination to self-destruct. Who thinks that if Washington didn't want Rossi running the State, they would want him in National politics? Especially running against a powerful incumbent.

But keep it up GOPers. You're doing our job for us.
