Waters has been under investigation for a possible conflict of interest involving a bank that was seeking federal aid. Her husband owned stock in the bank.

1. And still Cheney, Bush, , Rove, Rumsfeld, Woo, Gonzales, etc,
etc, etc walk uncharged and unfettered.

I remember standing outside in DC with other DU'ers and quite a few people all listening as Maxine Waters spoke of our shared hope that one Senator would stand with the CBC to question the vote in Ohio. She is amazing.

Something wrong in this world.

3. But it looks like the "they" who started this are the
Office of Congressional Ethics (OCE), co-chaired by Porter Goss.

The Waters case also presents a test of the Office of Congressional Ethics, an independent body that takes complaints from the public and chooses which ones to forward to the House ethics committee.

Members of the Congressional Black Caucus have complained that the OCE has unfairly and disproportionately targeted them, and many have signed onto a legislative effort to de-fang the office.

Waters' case was referred to the ethics committee by OCE.

7. If they do this to Ms. Waters, it's time to send Cheney, Bush and the rest of their pals to the ICC.

It's time to stop pussy-footing around. I am sick of these RW asses finding time to bring charges on Dems and their allies--especially if they are outspoken. That's why the Dems have to stop rolling over and playing dead whenever the GOP play the boogeymen.

Enough is enough.

9. I got to ask Rep. Inslee about her in person!
And he thinks somethings funny with it. That her husband was involved from a long time before she was in any position to have a conflict. That it's pretty small potatoes, given all...

Jay Inslee was in the Downing Street minutes hearings in the basement during the heat of BushCo. That guy fights the power like Maxine Waters does. It was an honor to get his time in person, but he was like talking with an old buddy. Maxine gives me the same impression.

10. another 'witch-hunt', McCarthyism all over again-deadlock them
this crap must be halted. Look how they even got to jail that Dem Gov(I can't recall his name). Notice ONLY DEMS ARE HELD "ACCOUNTABLE", TO TRUMPED UP CHARGES IF NEED BE. Any out-of-work lawyers/volunteers/paralegals around D.C. to ramp up defense for her? Try using the Right's de-emphasizing the outrage, de-escalating the perception that any law's been broken. How come Vitter is free & still in power? & that Rentboy.com hypocrite isn't thrown from office? Now is the time to do-for the real good people, not DLC, etc.

11. the charge is bs...OneUnited is a much better recipient of TARP
Funds that these huge multinational firms.

I'm glad she's fighting this. She is one politician I can't see making decisions based on corruption by money.

I have no problem with her using her office to promote a community based minority bank.
