America's Royal Wedding
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-10820649
<snip>
For many Americans, the young Ms Clinton who will marry her long-time beau Marc Mezvinsky this weekend is in no need of her famous surname. She's just Chelsea.

To her doting father, she's always been the centre of the universe. She ordered him to lose 15 pounds (7kg) before walking her down the aisle, and he unquestioningly complied.

"I just hope I can keep it together," he said.

For the equally adoring MOTB - that's Mother of The Bride, in case you didn't realise, and it's the acronym the Secretary of State has adopted - dress fittings and cake tastings have taken priority on a calendar that included meetings on Mid-East peace.

But to the American public, Chelsea is the girl that grew up before their eyes, and they want a piece of the action.

1. I am sure we will get pictures
I can't help but wonder how the republicans feel about the fact that the Clinton's raised a respectable daughter. Not like the party and booze hoping daughters of the Bush's. They gave this country a bad of a name as their father did. Course the scum bum rush the druggie tried his damnedest to flame her but it didn't work. Just like the republicans are trying to slur and flame Obama's kids. They just cant' stand it that Democrats raise their kids to be responsible and the republicans run wild. LOOK at Jeb's daughter.

4. That's the best part
They've divided the country so well that they no longer recognize the true meaning of family values and how to raise a child.
I mean just compare the Clintons to the Palins and you end up ROFL. Right now one Palin child with a toddler called in the press to announce her engagement (for the second time) to baby father Levi while another woman claims to be pregnant for him, and Mama Grizzly Lady Blah Blah does not approve of the groom.

You'd have to say The Democratic party represents the family values.
Sadly no on on TV is brave enough to take on this issue. Maybe Huffpo, KO or Rachel should tackle it.

8. I'm not sure KO could ever get over his hatred for the Clintons enough
to say anything positive about Chelsea. Sad.

2. I wish her joy...
Weddings, no matter who's getting married, or how much money was spent, are magical, wonderful events...

I hope Chelsea and Marc will have a wonderful day!

9. I concur Peggy!
I'm also awaiting the arrival of a new generation! Chelsea's 31, I think, so she can't wait too much longer. :)

6. 'royalty' ugh. Please, no. I know it's from bbc, but we've got a real problem with this
in the US right now, between a few families who think they're just too cool, including, but not limited to, the Clintons and the Bushes, who have both done their fair share to get us this far down a very, very bad path.

joyous times, endure the sad times and come out of all of it one of the most gracious and intelligent women of her era. Good parenting never fails, at least not in this case. Much happiness Chelsea and Marc. Chelsea Mezvinsky....yikes!
