I trust Iran more than I do *
How sad is it that it's gotten to this point? I'm sorry, but I cannot believe one single word that comes out of the * administration.

1. You know what -- I agree with you
I actually believe SOME of what the Iranian government, and about 1% of what Bush and his Administration say.

2. That is one percent more than I do.
Every time bush or one his cronies opens up their mouths I know that the result will be spin, equiovication or outright lie.

3. Don't get me wrong - Iran's president is pretty kooky
And his Holocaust denial is downright stupid. But the last I checked, Iran hasn't invaded any other countries.

7. No, I totally get what you're saying
Iran certainly isn't, say, Norway or Ireland, and its President is half bonkers... but, it's still better than our lying Admin. Jeebus. What a sad day for my country.

4. I'm no fan of Iran, BUT Iran has NO motivation to give Dubya a pretext...
for an attack.

It's in Iran's (and China's for that matter) best interest to sit quietly and let the US make a complete mess out of Iraq and THEN demand the UN go in and accommodate the Shiite majority.

In the mean time, they strengthen their ties to the Shiite religious leadership.

6. With a Navy guy in charge and the fleet in the Gulf war is coming
A Naval war and from the air. The cause is being dreamed up now and I am willing to bet Bush will tack it on to the Iraq War so he can do it. Iran is in the plan and I am not sure Congress can stop it. Besides that it takes the stealing and killing of Iraq off the front page and puts Iran on. Bush gets his war before the year is out and I am sure he feel he is right and every one else is wrong. This man is going to leave this world one big battle field and a bloody mess and he feels he is right. His father and mother must feel so good about all this. The nutty kid has made it to the big times. The world will pay.

9. "Don't Forget Poland"
And 1939...

1939: Germany invades Poland

snip...

The Times newspaper reports that when the air raid sirens in the capital first sounded at 0600 inhabitants reacted calmly and some even ran out onto the streets to look up at the sky and had be driven back inside by air raid wardens.

The unprovoked attack follows yesterday's report on German radio that the border town of Gliwice had been raided by a group of Polish soldiers, who had all been shot dead.

German radio broadcast a list of "demands" never submitted to the Polish Government.

The Prime Minister, Neville Chamberlain, held a meeting with King George today in Downing Street. MORE...

World War II Begins

snip...

The Excuse

After having gained both Austria and Czechoslovakia, Hitler was confident that he could again move east, this time acquiring Poland without having to fight Britain and France. (To eliminate the possibility of the Soviet Union fighting if Poland were attacked, Hitler made a pact with the Soviet Union - the Nazi-Soviet Non-Aggression Pact.)

So that Germany did not officially seem the aggressor (which it was), Hitler needed an excuse for entering/attacking Poland. It was Heinrich Himmler who came up with the idea; thus the plan was code named Operation Himmler.

On the night of August 31, 1939, Nazis took an unknown prisoner from one of their concentration camps, dressed him in a Polish uniform, took him to the town of Gleiwitz (on the border of Poland and Germany), and then shot him. The staged scene with the dead prisoner dressed in a Polish uniform was supposed to appear as a Polish attack against a German radio station.

Hitler used the staged attack as the excuse to invade Poland. More...
