Poll question: Enough with the Falwell threads. Time for a poll:
So who here is in mourning over Jerry Falwell's death?

Personally I think that if there's a Heaven and Jesus is one of its denizens, and there's Hell, and Satan's one of its denizens, as Falwell preached, then Jesus just kicked Falwell's lardass through the goalposts of Hell.

5. You posted a Falwell thread that begins "Enough with the Falwell threads."
You created a new one. Think about it, you might get it eventually.

7. I guess I don't think of polls the same way I think of "threads".
I didn't just want to start a discussion, I wanted to see some poll results. But yes, I see your point. Technically, a poll can be called a thread.

8. A poll is just a thread people can vote on.
I'm not using it in a weird way, you are.

12. The choices don't comport with Christianity
-Going to heaven is based only on Jesus' death on the cross -you don't get into heaven based on your life, no matter how good of one you lived!

-Going to hell is based on your life alone

Since Falwell said he was a sinner but believed in forgiveness based on Jesus' death on the cross, it is consistent with the bible to believe he is in heaven now.

Thank God for forgiveness or every one of us would be lost and could do nothing about that.

13. Let me guess: yours was one of the 2 "Yay" votes. :)

Not being a Christian, I guess it really didn't occur to me to worry about whether my choices "comported" with Christianity. But if there is a heaven, I can't imagine its gates would be open to a Jerry Falwell any more than a Charlie Manson or an Adolph Hitler. The world's a better place without them in it. So Falwell's death doesn't trigger a mourning response in me in the least.
