Oh hell no: Daniels "Open to the Idea" of Presidential Run in 2012
Edited on Sat Aug-14-10 10:36 PM by and-justice-for-all
Indiana Governor :puke: Mitch Daniels is raising the already growing suspicion he may make a presidential run in 2012 after an appearance on Fox News Sunday.

Daniels was introduced by host Chris Wallace as a “prime contender for the GOP nomination for president.

During his interview, Daniels stood firm that he has made no decisions on whether he will run for president. Later, he pulled back a bit, saying he in fact is “open to the idea of a presidential run.”

For months, rumors have spread over whether Daniels is eyeing the Oval Office.

While the interview touched on the topic of a possible presidential run, most of the segment focused on discussing the nation's fiscal policy.

At one point, the governor compared paying for programs like Social Security and Medicare to child abuse.

Daniels claims, passing on that debt to future generations is "practicing child abuse in a literal sense."

I would enjoy watching Mitch getting his ass handed to him by Obama. Daniels actuall pushed the Indiana AG to join the lawsuit agains the Health Care Reform:

IN Attorney General's Lawsuit Challenges Health Care Bill.

Indiana's Attorney General is being praised by some, criticized by others for challenging the constitutionality of the federal health care legislation.

This is just the latest battle, now on the state level, for the president's health care reform package.

Earlier this week, Indiana became the 14th state to join a lawsuit in a Florida federal court.
Attorneys General in that group are claiming the health care bill is unconstitutional and states shouldn't be forced to comply.

Rep. Bruce Borders (R-Jasonville) says, "We know, just on the prescription drugs alone, through Medicaid, the negotiations we worked out as a state, we already know that's going to cost 400 million dollars to Hoosier tax payers."

Borders says the health care bill is an un-funded mandate and violates citizen's rights.

"I hope that the whole thing is thrown out as unconstitutional."

Representative Clyde Kersey (D-Terre Haute) joins other state democrats in claiming the lawsuit is a waste of taxpayer money; at a time when the state is financially hurting.

"I think it would be better if we made sure that 300 thousand Hoosiers had jobs and that we fully funded our public schools and universities before we purse a lawsuit like this," explained Kersey.

Kersey believes the lawsuit will do little good. The constitution says federal law supersedes state law and states won't have an option. "When they talk about states opting out of the National Health Care Reform law, they can't just do that."

Supporters of the lawsuit say the Attorney General's office will supply the lawyers and outside council will not be retained.

But critics insist the lawsuit will cost more than just lawyer fees.

Rep. Kersey said, "There will be a lot of additional costs along with this and, when the final bill comes in, I'm sure it will be in the millions of dollars."

Governor Mitch Daniels pushed the Attorney General to join the lawsuit though he admits he's unsure if the challenge will be a success.

3. Ah .... Fox News has catapulted Mitchie to the front of the pack !
That is how it works - FOX Snooze says it, and POOF there it is ....

On the other hand, I relish Mitchie ripping into the other “prime contender for the GOP nomination for president".

That would be one plus ...
