A discreet gigglesnort --
that's a damn hard thing to manage. But it's what I was faced with earlier today. A group of us were enjoying a lovely breeze as we stood outside a church waiting for the ushers to take us inside for a wedding. Most everyone there is very politically active, I'd met most of them at one campaign event or another. Anyway, I hadn't yet met the bride's family so I was pleased when her father came over and introduced himself. We chatted for a bit, then he confessed that he was terribly nervous that he'd fluff his one line; then he said, "Fortunately, Sarah Palin is such an inspiration!" Then he grinned and showed me the palm of his hand, on which he'd written "Her mother and I do."

I just love Democrats!
