Grayson: 'Cure for cancer' would be filibustered in Senate environment
By Bridget Johnson - 08/14/10 10:56 AM ET

Rep. Alan Grayson (D-Fla.) accused the Senate of concentrating on "mostly with renaming post offices" and not taking up key bills pushed through the House.

"The House could be back in session for every day from now until the end of time," Grayson said Friday evening on MSNBC's "The Ed Show." "It doesn`t make a difference if the Republicans in the Senate are blocking everything that they can." "At this point, if you put a cure for cancer up in the Senate, it would get filibusters," he said.

Grayson said that regardless of the blockage that the House would keep working when it returns in September.

1. Damn straight. Just think what that would do to insurance claims!
Suck up health care insurance company profits like crazy--can't have that!

:sarcasm:

4. Grayson communicates as well as anyone on the left.

Better, actually.

We need less equivocation and less doubletalk ( I understand the WH is "clarifying" Obama's position on the so called "mosque" that we were all praising him for yesterday. Goodgodalmighty.) and more "connect the dots."

That's what good leaders do.

Did I mention Grayson's from the Bronx? ( Originally.)

5. If there were a cure for cancer, we would never know about it.
I am quite sure the Pentagon would consider a leak of that subject a threat against 'national' security.

Can my cynicism get any stronger?

7. it depends on if profit could be extracted from it.
if the cure for cancer were ubiquitous and cheap, then you're right.
if the cure for cancer were something only a big company could effectively produce, then they would, and charge your life savings for it.
