3. ah, but people DO need to read the instructions on shampoo bottles!
they might not "repeat" otherwise, thereby wasting half the product, like good wasteful consumers!

5. Some medicated shampoos
need to be shaken before using. Some need to be left on the scalp for a certain period of time. Speaking as someone who has a scalp condition that requires medicated shampoos, reading instructions on shampoo bottles isn't as stupid as you think.

6. Although the directions on most shampoo bottles
to "Wash. Rinse. Repeat." was a very successful marketing campaign to increase shampoo sales. Which it did, nearly doubling them in the first year after those instructions started being included. That's what the reference was to. The danger is, knowing that it's a marketing campaign for most shampoos could lessen the efficacy of those same instructions on medicated shampoos.

8. Sure, it doubled shampoo sales,
but that was because of the few people who were caught in the infinite loop.
