1. the 14th amendment has to do with "their" rights, not "ours"
In the mind of a bigot, there is no contradiction between those two positions.

2. I am only surprised they are not yet talking openly of repealing the first amendment-- in fact,
everything except the second and tenth.

anybody here remember back when they wanted to hold a constitutional convention to "update" the constitution? it was, for short, called a "con-con", which I thought was the perfect description of it.

14. Yes I remember
Yep sure do.

I think the update they were thinking of was how do we keep WASP's on top and stop all this nonsense about equality.

Don't forget the 5th how else can Rove stay out of prison.

19. Last summer I got into an argument
with a teabagger and his wife. They tried to hijack one of our town halls by insisting that nothing would be valid again unless and until we do away with everything but the base constitution. They claimed that all our troubles started with the Bill of Rights and that those first ten amendments need to go. I asked his wife if she was willing to give up her right to vote; she nodded, he spoke. Same when I asked if we needed to go back to when people of color were only valued as three-fifths of a person. Selfish and incredibly stupid.

6. I haven't heard any Democrats or any one from the left
wanting to repeal any of the Constitution but as of now there are at least two and maybe three the republicans want to repeal.

And while we are at it, I for one, would like to know what freedoms and rights, the Democrats have taken away. In fact the previous administration was the ones who stepped all over out rights and freedoms.

16. What have the Democrats taken away?
Your right to marry a person of the opposite sex.

Don't you know. Democrats are going to force all of the children to engage in homosexual relationships as a means to foment their socialist agenda.

7. And they called Kerry a Flip FLopper
They apply the Constitution just like they do their bible versus.

Pick and chose and define it as the needs fits.

8. I dunno, but it reminds me of the situation years ago
in Wisconsin when the Indians started exerting their treaty rights with regard to hunting and fishing. People who would now be teabaggers got out onto the boat landings & tried to interfere with the Indians' spring walleye fishing. Having stolen the land wasn't good enough. They also wanted to deny the Indians the fish to which they ere entitled as part of the treaties they were forced to sign.

I always referred to it as the "Rights for Whites Movement."

18. It's essentially the same mindset religious zealots have.
The religious zealot knows that he is right because he "knows" what God wants.

The repukes are never wrong about the Constitution because they "know" what the founders wanted.
