"Not in 'Nam of course."

"Then you know she's got emotional problems, man."

"You mean... beyond witchcraft?"

1. We need to drop the witchcraft issue.
Edited on Mon Sep-20-10 09:52 AM by drm604
I saw a few minutes of Morning Joe this morning and they are using this to their advantage. They're framing it as "the witchcraft thing" (which was just a silly immature thing she did in high school) versus her "conservative economic policies".

Of course, it is not just "the witchcraft thing". There are plenty of real problems with her. They are trying to make it overshadow all of the other wackiness. If it becomes paramount in people's minds and then can be explained away as a youthful indiscretion, all of the other stuff, that is not so easily explained, will disappear from public consciousness.

Edited for spelling.

2. Not really. The fundie Christians really hate witchcraft as the Antichrist thing to do.
Her dabbling is a really sour pill for them to swallow.

3. Not if she has repented. Sinning and repenting is even more delicious for them than never sinning
in the first place.

4. Exactly.
This is not the issue to attack her on. They are trying to draw attention to this issue to avoid discussion of her real problems. Her apparent misuse of campaign funds, for instance. That's basically stealing from her contributors, and it's a lot more recent than the witchcraft stuff. They do not want people talking about that.

6. Maybe the response should be something like this...
"She wiggled her nose and made those campaign funds disappear. "

If we could get that meme out there, then every mention of "witchcraft" would bring up thoughts of campaign funds being misused.

8. Yeah, I agree.
But her claim that she "dabbled" in witchcraft immediately brought to mind The Big Lebowski quote, and I couldn't help myself.
