Bill Press slamming "whiney dems."
http://www.chicagoprogressivetalk.com/

Bill has been on a rant this morning about the whining, some callers think it started with the health care Bill, their disappointment over something that was not possible to attain at this time. Great show and good callers. Paraphrasing: If they don't get off their a$$es and stop their whining and moaning repubs will win the majority. GOTV is key....

2. In a way he is correct
I think a lot of Democrats should bend their principals a little and vote for some of those Democrats who haven't moved fast enough or were too timid to overcome the republicans. We know deep down they are DEMOCRATS and we know that if we get republicans in, instead of a governing body, all we will have is a bunch of people who will tear everything and any thing down to make sure the rich and corporations continue to roll in the lap of luxury and power.
Get off and vote people...

3. That lady whose kids were in private school but she's tired
of beans and hot dogs. What a whiney selfish person. Why in the hell didn't she stay home rather than mess it up for those who really are in need.

9. She is not a politically informed person
She should take her anger out at the repubs who fillibuster anything that may help people like her and the DINOs! Obama is not God or a king!

16. Don't think she was a plant....
she was angry and letting her anger out at the wrong person...she should show that anger by going to Washington and visiting with Repubs in their offices and letting them have it for being obstructionist!

5. I try and stick with MoJo as long as possible, but find Bill's show
to be so much more enlightening. He's a very smart guy sans the arrogance and bullishness some of the other pundits display.

6. If you don't try, it's an automatic "no"
So the candidate who talked a good game about single payer became the president who bargained it away before he even sat down to negotiate. A truculent opposition party saw an opening a mile wide, and pummeled a president into giving away even a public option, and we wind up with this morphodite system that keeps the insurance companies in control of delivery of health care services. A brilliant strategy that attained so little, energized the opposition, and those of us with the vision and the commitment are dismissed as whiners who are probably developmentally delayed and possibly on drugs.

Thanks a lot, O Wise Men of Washington. May we have another?

7. Bill Press can whine all he wants about Dems who don't shut up
and get in line. Does he think it's going to make them more likely to do so?

8. If you continue whining like a petulant child, you almost deserve the coming GOP congress
...which will surely happen if you continue sitting in the corner and pouting.

24. If you continue whining about those that don't get in line when you demand it,
you are surely not going to convince anyone to line up and vote the way you think they should. I foresee more whining over the results ahead.

10. True that alot of Dem's
need to get a reality check.

you want something better, then fight for it. You won't get anything by rolling over and not voting

11. Huh . . . and here I thought all that fighting pre-2008 to elect a Democratic
President and a Democratic majority might actually get Democratic policies enacted. Too much kumbayah, not enough hardball. That's why some Dems are unhappy. When you work and work and fight and fight and donate more than you can afford to and then the victory doesn't produce what you thought you were getting . . . it's hard to motivate yourself again with no assurance of not getting the same end result. I'll be voting Democratic, but that's about all I've got left to give.

14. Ominous sign.
I like the Bill Press Show. Indeed, I think it is one of the best progressive talk radio programs.

But I took today's three hour long rant about "whiny Democrats" as a sign that November probably will be an election disaster for the Democrats.

At this late date, with the election just 48 or so days away, for President Obama still to not understand the disappointment of core base Democrats means further demoralization of his voters.

And for a political insider like Bill Press to chide folks for having these concerns is counterproductive and leads to even more feelings of frustration.

As this DU thread shows, it is evident that President Obama doesn't get the depth of this disappointment, either: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=102x4547482

Pres. Obama and Congressional Democratic candidates need to get real and not buy into this ridiculous notion that the recession is over and that everything will be fine even if it comes slowly. We want to hear a commitment to a new plan for the next two years that will bring the kind of change we actually voted for in 2008.

19. See it works like this...
We dems enjoy pissing and moaning. That's just a fact.

But there is a simpler fact and that is; we still care.

That's what separates us from the repukes.

Repukes will vote when it's completely against their own best interests or won't vote at all just to spite their reps.

We, on the other hand, have civil duty so ingrained into our DNA, that we can't help ourselves. As a result, even with the pissing and moaning, we will still vote.

So as dismayed I am with everything that is going on, if I didn't go out and vote, I would feel, frankly, ashamed of myself. Not because of being a dem, but because of personal integrity.

Fuck all you mutherfuckers - we've got legitimate complaints, and bitching about our complaints is the BEST way to keep us from going to the polls.

The DLC will never learn.
