Eddie Fisher, an American singer who infamously left his first wife Debbie Reynolds for Elizabeth Taylor, died on Wednesday. He was 82.

His daughter, Tricia Leigh Fisher, told the Associated Press that her father died of complications from hip surgery at a Berkeley, California hotel. (Another daughter, actress Carrie Fisher, recently tweeted about her father’s broken hip.)

1. Thought he died years ago.
Maybe I confused him with Julius LaRosa.
