Overheard at a DE Diner: "This will be the first election ever I won't be voting straight Repub."
So I'm off today and decided to grab some lunch at a favorite little diner around the corner from my house (which ironically was also O'Donnell's old neighborhood). I was seated at a booth next to some senior citizens and definitely not Obama fans. (although one admitted he thinks Obama will serve 2 terms and he did like what Healthcare was gonna do for his prescriptions).

One of the men at the table, probably around 70-80 years old said this "This will be the first election I won't be voting straight republican". The other gentleman at the table was a bit shocked that someone had never in what was probably 50 years worth of election, ever voted anything but straight "R".

But the republican man said this - I don't like that O'Donnell girl. She's just not right and I'd rather have the other guy as my senator.

The 3 of them (there was a lady too) the proceeded to rehash everything wrong with O'Donnell, also the fact that they don't like Sarah Palin "interfering with our politics" and that clearly someone who won't do national news shows probably won't be able to hold her own against other senators.

Before I left I did say 'Thank you and have a nice day' although didn't have a chance to say more.

Someone worse than W.

Now, I know that it would be had to imagine such a thing....but the Tea Party is diligent in seeking out talent.

More proof (if it was needed) that Palin cost McCain the White House.

5. Hopefully, Castle realizes that his potential entry into the race
just boosts the chances of this nutbar...

8. Her 35% of the vote is pretty solid
and also nutz, but that's beside the point.

Coon is getting votes because they really don't like her but he also has a solid 35% of the vote too IF Mike castle doesn't enter.

All Castle can do is enable O'Donnell to win.

11. It is my understanding that O'Donnell only got something like 54% of the Republican
vote in the primary. And I don't think the republican party in Delaware is that big, compared to the state at large.

From my understanding, if Castle runs, he will still probably pull about 46% of republicans and then the question is how many independents and democrats he can pull.

I really don't think either party candidate appears ready for the Senate and Castle could walk away with the election as a write in.

O'Donnell will not go above the number voters she had on election night if Castle runs.

10. I have a good friend who is a Republican
Not the whacky fundie type with an obsession with abortion and gays and other people's sex lives, more of the fiscally conservative type who worries about taxes and government debt, and also very reasonable and rational during political discussions (which is the main reason why we are still friends).

She HATES HATES HATES Sarah Palin with a passion, and bitches and bitches everytime someone tries to get her to give money to Palin. She thinks Palin is both loony and as dumb as a bag of hammers and can't stand that she speaks for the right-wing these days.

There is no doubt in my mind that my friend is one (R) vote they will lose in 2012 if Palin runs. There are others out there like her.
