Okay here is a dumb question. The Chamber of Commerce can be found
in every city. From what I was taught in my hospitality/tourism classes It is designed to not only promote tourism in a town and encourage businesses into a town.

My wife says the Chamber of Commerce --from what she is understanding--was suppose to operate like that on some national level. Promote Tourism in the United States and What not but got corrupted

Okay. If that is the case does this mean all Chambers are linked to this national one -- like a chain of stores-- OR as my wife thinks they are not connected like I'm thinking.

1. Some Chambers have severed their ties with the national and state Chamber organizations.
But those are the exception. For the most part they all "promote business" by getting taxpayer subsidies for businesses and fight any form of regulation.
