NBC: Burr Wins 2nd Term (NC Senator)

Fuck. I can't stand this POS. The polls indicated this would happen but FUCK! He defeated Elaine Marshall, who I think would have made a great senator. Now we're stuck this this asshole for another 6 damn years. We managed to get rid of Dole and elect Dem in that seat -- why the fuck are people so stupid about Burr?

Elaine Marshall would have been a much better senator, but she did not advertise -- not in this part of the state anyway. I didn't see a single ad from her on television until about a week or 2 ago, and then it wasn't the best made ad I've ever seen. I don't know who was responsible for the lack of ads, but I truly think she couldd have made a much better showing.

6. Very little in WNC, too. I volunteered at HQ and kept trying to get Marshall

campaign materials: yard signs, bumper stickers, anything -- never did get anything. Word was everything went out as fast as it came in. I call bullshit -- I saw bumper stickers and yard signs all over the place for all of the other Dems running -- never saw one of either for Marshall. I'm sure there are some out there but damn -- I was there on multiple occasions and never did get any Marshall campaign materials. I have a neighbor who has yard signs for most of the Democrats running but no Marshall. Sounds to me like they simply didn't devote enough to promoting the candidate. Not smart.
