Nevada vote results delayed by long lines in Elko

Updated: Nov 02, 2010 9:34 PM CDT

LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Nevada election officials say a power outage at a Las Vegas-area polling place has been resolved, but long lines in Elko are delaying the reporting of statewide voting results.

Secretary of State Ross Miller's spokeswoman Pam duPre tells The Associated Press it's not clear how long the delay might be.

She says every voter in line will be allowed to vote.

Miller issued a statement saying that no results of any statewide race can be reported in any county until all polls across the state are closed.

Clark County Registrar of Voters spokesman Dan Kulin says the power outage happened about 5:45 p.m. at Schofield Middle School in southeast Las Vegas. It lasted about 45 minutes.

Kulin says voting machines have battery power, and no votes were lost.

3. Well, Luntz suggested the exit polling showed Reid would win
also, Shepherd Smith on FOX said early voting was very strong for Reid. Hard to say if they meant it or were just trying to get Repubs out to vote?
