6. I always fall apart on election nights. I miss MrG. I miss WannaBe.
My state is red still, my home state is red, my birth state is red. Gosh, maybe I'm bad luck. Everything I touch or love turns to red...or dead.

20. I'm okay...I have no idea how Bill White lost. Well I do, but it scares
me that it was more of a vote against Katrina refugees (i.e. blacks) than a vote for Perry. Everyone I know can't stand Rick Perry, but many of them are very negative about the refugees...who aren't all refugees.

26. It's really sad; Bill White was a hero during Hurricane Ike;
I read the stories about how the black population in Harris was being vilified, harassed, and lied to. Sigh. Do you know if the Latinos turned out?

Another bummer.

30. I don't know much about the Latino vote yet. I do know that all of the
major cities went blue. All we can do is hope for next time. I'm really bummed that MI's new governor is a Repub. and a good friend lost her seat in the MI state house.

Nearly all the Dems lost in my state. It was already red state but it went deep, deep red this election cycle. I really don't get it. Well it was probably the Pelosi/Obama ads rammed down our throats.

27. funny most of the country went to bed before California and Nevada came in
The west coast as usual not American enough for MSM so our results will get ignored. Also we are unrepresented in Congress anyway so the fact we are generally more Democratic doesn't help the nation as a whole.

I really hope the overturning of the 2/3 vote passes so Brown can really work the budget. I'm really sick of tyranny of the minority in the state.

38. the problem with our state is that we don't want to pay for anything
prop 21 defeated, the measures to raise the vehicle license fees didn't pass, corporations get to keep their big tax cuts, the state can't borrow $$ from counties... how are we going to pay for services, schools, parks, infrastructure?? TThere are going to be some big cuts coming.

31. the country is much worse shape than 1994 though
I don't think two years of congressional action was enough, I think these Republicans who think they can coast and take credit for last congresses accomplishments like they did after 1994 are in for a big surprise. This country is nowhere near as sound as it was in 1994. They are going to need to get off their * and work or it's not going to be pretty for them.

35. Yes... that is true
but Voters are angry... I predict, like 1996, a third party candidate... like well you know that crazy texan who brought charts and information to debates (Perot)...

But this is not 1994... time to get back to work.

28. Nervous- really nervous, Will!
Jerry Brown nailed it :woohoo: but Megabucks won't concede.

Boxer has a razor thin lead over Fiorina.

My city is in the crapper with one exception-
a great Dem who will be on our school board!

My county ( OC in CA) is sooo predictably Repub
with the exception of Loretta Sanchez.

My state is gradually becoming the "Florida" of the Midwest...

If the Rethugs get their way, regaining control of Congress and the Oval Office again, and eventually drastically reduce or even worse, eliminate SSI, SSD, SSR, Medicaid, and Medicare, it may someday soon only be a "final" destination for middle-class retirees that somehow still have pensions and heathcare benefits (and who can deal with the cold weather), as well as privatized prisons, nursing homes, caregivers, physicians, hospitals, pharmacies, graveyards, prunejuice-popsicles and morticians. Apparently it is some of the latter of those which are the "new" jobs that our GOP-elect governor Rick Snyder said that "he" will create.
